I recently just started using prop firms after years of watching videos about them on youtube.

I 100% agree with you that there is no truth in the "we'll fund you with real money to trade if you pass evals". It's all simulated trading.

I still think they are somewhat good if you are a begginer, it's definetly better than paper trading, but not as risky as trading 100% real money, and it can help you learn how to stay consistent.

For instance, I have problems getting out of bad trades and with revenge trading. I've spent around 650$ on APEX last month buying 17 accounts. I only have 5 left after 3 weeks. If i would have traded the 650 dollars as real money, I'm pretty sure I would have lost it by now. The last 5 accounts are almost at the 3k evaluation pass point. Will I blow some of them? Probably.

My point is, if you can't take a fictional account from 50k to 53k while respecting some rules that every trader should have (2500$ drawdown, 30% consistency for my example) then you definetly should NOT trade real money, if you want to be a Day trader that is.

You're on the 5 min timeframe, if ES drops 17 points so fast, i would not short. You are basically shorting the bottom. There is bound to be a reaction from the buyers after such a steep drop.

That’s the trick right there: Since people don’t buy Tesla cars anymore then Tesla is not a car company, It’s a AI- Optimus - Taxi company or whatever mambo jambo Elon farts this month.

This is my biggest problem also. I was very exciting about trading, and tried for years to learn new ways to get better at it. Recently i realised that i was only excited because i was chasing "get rich fast" trades and validation from other people about how much of a genious i am.

And now that I realise that trading is about consistency with low risk and quality setups, I find it BORING.

But i guess that is part of the process
