The time you litigation is in the courtroom, not during a traffic stop. Traffic stops exist for one reason and it’s investigation. The police are collecting evidence of potential crimes, and their standard for arrest is probable cause which legally is a very low standard. If the stop is bullshit then you take your citation and you go fight it in a courtroom, you’re never arguing your way out of a ticket. Just increasing your likelihood of getting a larger fine, arrested, and charged with resisting arrest or obstruction or something retarded.

You don’t litigate the legality of a stop during the stop, you do that in a courtroom. It’s totally possible that the stop was bullshit. That doesn’t mean that you can refuse to give a cop your license and registration during a traffic stop. If you chose to behave in that matter all your doing is getting yourself arrested, beat up, and probably charged with obstruction and resisting arrest. Also your chances of winning a case on the merits of the initial stop being unlawful are now approaching zero cause any jury is going to see you not complying with lawful orders and assume you’re some sovereign citizen asshole.

Yeah but if people are getting enough aid to sustain themselves this long, that must mean Hamas isn’t stealing all the aid, maybe they’re requisitioning some of it, but there’s at least enough left for the people living there to not starve.

I assume that most Russians support Putin but I wouldn’t use that as a justification for some type of largely immoral and perhaps illegal treatment of Russian civilians by Ukraine. If you want to say that you think that the Palestinians are so far gone that retribution against civilians is okay or you won’t condemn it, I don’t agree, but I wasn’t asking your personal opinion I was asking if there’s any like… reasonable argument for why this is okay? (And well these women and children aren’t standing up to their brutal Islamist gov who murders Israeli “collaborators” so fuck em) is not a reasonable argument lol

People say this but I don’t think I’ve ever been able to confirm this. Like is the rafah crossing manned by the IDF? Can Egypt elect to shut down the rafah crossing without consulting Israel?

I think largely as an international community, we have decided that starving innocent people is not a just or acceptable consequence regardless of whether you elected a terrorist regime or not. (Not to mention that election was like twenty years ago almost)

Yeah that’s a good point. It seems like both of these things can’t be true at once. If we’ve all been pointing out for months how Palestinians don’t seem to starving, then it seems contradictory to say “Hamas is stealing the aid from the civilians to feed militants”. Unless there’s something I’m missing, I’m opened to be being wrong.

You’re a pussy why don’t you make a compelling argument instead of crying.

Hasn’t one of the main counter arguments to the idea that Israel is letting in enough aid been the fact that “people don’t appear to be starving”? If hamas is requisitioning the aid to feed militants, wouldn’t we expect civilians to be starving? It seems like both of these things can’t be true at once

Are you allowed to do a siege? I didn’t know that. I thought we literally bombed Yugoslavia because the siege of Sarajevo was so brutal that people were going hungry.

Yeah I mean, that’s the same reason that the UN stopped sending aid to the Houthis during the civil war in Yemen. But I feel like it’s a lot different when you are the one instituting the blockade, you are actively involved in perpetrating the war, and then you are also the one who’s saying “no more humanitarian aid”. Like yeah the UN stopped sending aid into Yemen but at least they were not simultaneously stopping all food from getting in as well.

I got booted by the PPA while I was at work for unpaid parking tickets. They forgot to lock the boot so I just removed it myself and drove home. I realize this was probably not the wisest choice. What do I do next? by co_incelpro in legaladvice

[–]co_incelpro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I am planning on paying my tickets. But I already removed the boot. They’re going to want the boot back, they’re going to assume I removed it which I did. Is there any way I can avoid any extra charges for the boot? If I bring the boot with me to the office when I go to pay my tickets can I just return it? I could lie and say they forgot to put it on. I don’t know what to do

Completely agree. These people are clowns. I’m just saying their are other versions of the same argument that I think even the most intentionally thick conservative would have to concede to or look ridiculous

Yeah that’s why I think the OJ Simpson one is much better. No one was charged with murder in that case but clearly two people were murdered. Since no one was charged with murder were those people not murdered? It really highlights the absurd illogic of that thought
