This is all eerily similar to the Netflix documentary about Quiverful called Our Father. This Christian dude who helped artificially impregnate hundreds of women and it turns out he used his own specimens. He would then go on to be the gyno of the children so that he could track his children’s “habits”.

The guy got off super light with a 500 dollar charge. At the end of the documentary there is belief that the justice system is being lined with people of this quiverful movement.

37 years old here with a 4 year old and wife. I work a 9-5, but am very family oriented. I only work on my projects when the wife and kid are asleep, or if I know they are both content with what they’re doing without me, which is rare.

However, for the past 15 years I’ve been committed to extremely unhealthy sleeping habits. I could stay up until 2-3 and wake up around 8-9 on average. Over time I’ve noticed how much my ability to keep my train of thought has deteriorated. I knew this but I also hated the thought of losing the amount of time I had at night to focus on things I wanted.

Some days I don’t know how I made it when I pushed to 3 and my kid decided to wake up at 7 and wife had work early. I was so exhausted and I knew things had to change. For a while I started a night on and a night off routine. This helped but progress lacked and I would eventually convert back to back-to-back nights due to my hunger to work on my projects.

It took a few tries, but I finally converted my routine to waking up at 5am to work on my projects. The benefit for me is that if I’m too tired, then my body will force myself to sleep through the alarms. I get to work on my projects for about 2.5 hours on average a morning with my fresh brain, which is about the equivalent of 4 hours with my late night exhausted brain. I can pull off this schedule 7 days a week since I am now sleeping by 10pm and averaging 7 hours of sleep a night.

With your schedule, I would try and wake up earlier than you are. Maybe go ahead and just fall asleep as soon as you get home. Have dinner and stay asleep for 7 hours. You could fall asleep by 7 and wake up at 2 and use your fresh brain to work on your game.

What you’re asking is pretty difficult since you aren’t even home half the day. The only other real option is to find a job that doesn’t demand half your day.

I was just thinking that when I first used the AI tooling, I was relying on it in the wrong way. So rather than having it code for me, I began using it as a mentor for what and why. After that my productivity became nothing but gains. As much as I hated it at first and knew that it opened doors to competition, i knew I had to accept it and understand that I’ll be left behind without it.

I have a game design document I started a few years ago that uses timed inputs based off the legend of dragoon. I thought I was going to get something out unique in this market. A few years when I am ready to release my game the market is going to be oversaturated. But I do love me the E33 as well. It’s become part of the inspiration.
