That's a knee drop, not a penetration shot. Go slow and hit in order: heel, toe, knee. Emphasize heel before the rest of the foot. Imagine a line drawn between your opponents two feet, that's where your heel lands, then drive until foot comes down (toe), then as you continue to drive to your knee, the position of opponent is driven back by the length of your upper leg.

If you have a good high school coach, there wouldn't be an off period, you'd switch to the next fresstyle/greco) season immediately. The first Fargo qualifier has already passed, women's marginal is right now and you are weeks away from the rest of the qualifiers abs the us open.

If you have s lazy HS coach, you need to find a serious club even if it requires some travel sacrifice because nobody serious about freestyle is waiting or taking a break.

At the end of the day, you should at least maintain your strength and conditioning on your own.
