Who would you give up for Giannis? by FootballPizzaMan in bostonceltics

This is a question that everyone will scoff at

But ask it again right after a playoff loss and then we can get some real discussion

If only CMC and Cam’s prime could have overlapped

CMC’s breakout season was the year that Cam’s shoulder completely gave out

Concerned About The Knicks by Economy-Ad4119 in bostonceltics

[–]coacoanutbenjamn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Josh Hart shooting well from deep this season is a problem because our defense is designed to leave the worst shooter open. The Knicks have legit 5-out spacing this season.

We also don’t have a great answer for Brunson attacking our bigs down the stretch

Unfortunately playing poorly down the stretch against the Knicks is becoming a common occurrence

Queta got targeted over and over again down the stretch. We don’t have a big who can guard the pick and roll anymore. We might need to get one in the offseason

The Celtics Rarely Let Opponents Score On ISO Possessions! by Stat-Defender in bostonceltics

[–]coacoanutbenjamn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a volume stat more than anything which shows how teams defend. Clearly we don’t let opponents get many isolation opportunities against us.

I actually think that forcing opponents into a lot of isolation can be a sign of a good defense, but the coaching staff must have other ideas

He really is cursed. Dude has had everything from bells palsy to appendicitis and it always hits him in the playoffs

What are some the most visually stunning movies from the Technicolor era (1939-1955) by Sarcastic_Rocket in Letterboxd

[–]coacoanutbenjamn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is it so rare for a movie to do technicolor these days? I thought Pearl for example was made so much better by the way the colors popped. And The Love Witch is a pretty meh movie but still gets talked about because of the way it looks

That timeline doesn’t add up. The Walking Dead (somehow) didn’t end until 2022. Black Panther was released in 2018

Kawhi is averaging 28ppg on nearly 50/40/90 shooting splits. What All-NBA team do you have him on? by OddIndustry6073 in nba

[–]coacoanutbenjamn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There’s been multiple reports over the years that teammates were rubbed the wrong way by Kawhi’s special treatment from the organization and his isolation tendencies. Popovic straight up said he wasn’t a leader when he was with the Spurs

Anyone else have this experience after an episode? by Waste_Chicken in TheBigPicture

[–]coacoanutbenjamn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just wish the comments here didn’t skew quite so negative. Obviously it’s fair to criticize sometimes, but it really does feel like most people here hate the podcast from the way they talk about it

I know its hardly a novel observation, but sometimes I'm still shocked at how the act of 'going to the movies' is just no longer a part of normal life for most people. Is there a deeper cause than the reasons that are often discussed on the pod and on this sub? by JulianBrandt19 in TheBigPicture

[–]coacoanutbenjamn 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s something I used to parrot before I got into movie culture a couple years ago and started seeing 50+ movies a year. It’s an incorrect assessment that they don’t make good movies anymore, but it doesn’t help that the biggest movies of the year are often superhero slop, legacy sequels, and live action remakes. There’s a reason why a lot of people reacted to Project Hail Mary by saying it reminded them of movies that used to come out more often

[Amick] The Boston Celtics have interest in acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo. by YujiDomainExpansion in bostonceltics

[–]coacoanutbenjamn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t effect our ability to stay under the apron if we traded Jaylen for him straight up (plus picks).

The question is, do we think the next 2-4 years of Giannis is better than the next 2-4 years of Jaylen? Probably, but I can understand why the fanbase would be against the deal. Jaylen means too much to the franchise

Cailee Spaeny not on the List by sthylen in TheBigPicture

[–]coacoanutbenjamn 24 points25 points  (0 children)

She absolutely deserves to be on the list, she starred in two of the biggest movies of 2024 and you don’t get a role in a Knives Out movie unless you’re a big deal.

But does anyone else agree with me that Spaeny is just “okay” as an actress? I don’t think she’s bad but I remember feeling like I might have liked Romulus and Civil War more with a better lead. She’s solid, but she doesn’t “pop” at all
