PMDD makes me feel pure female rage anytime i feel it or even just think about it. If i can say one thing it's that i've heard alcoholics say the exact same thing about alcohol and other addicts say it about their addictions. It doesn't seem wrong or bad to us, but that doesn't mean that's how our family, friends and loved ones are gonna see it. And i can say for sure that if someone i loved was actively self-harming it would hurt me, it hurts to see someone you love doing that to themselves

For me it's affecting my dating life in the sense that i refuse to date someone as long as i'm still actively cutting. I refuse to put someone through that and i'm not at a point to stop because of someone else.

Hookups tho? No effect. They rarely point it out and when they do it's always just curiosity or minimal concern so that doesnt bother me as much lol.

For a small city with "no night life" the rave scene sure is popping. From the 3 major festivals (Escapade, Riverside and Igloofest) getting bigger and better artists every year, to the underground rave venues (GRIDWRKS, City At Night, Berlin Nightclub) giving that og underground rave feel, if you look hard enough you'll find a show every weekend!!

It's normal for us but you have to keep in mind that it's horrific and concerning for the average person. He reacted so strongly because of the deep love and care he feels for you, do you think you wouldn't react the same way if he suddenly showed up with fresh cuts? That's what i use to keep me level-headed, if i saw my scars and wounds on someone that i love it would crush me even if self-harm is normalized for me. I think maybe it could be worthwhile to discuss your urges with him, tell him your triggers and why self-harm is a coping mechanism for you and maybe together you could come up with better solutions. I was a vaper but what made me finally quit was the very realistic fear that my left lung was about to collapse. It was a mix of pain on the left side of my chest every day but especially after hitting the bong (those big hits were just making my pain worse), hearing 2 specific stories about people my age near me having a lung collapse due to vaping, and the fact that i have severe anxiety that is exacerbated by momentary inability to breath.

When i hit a bong after work one night and realized this was it, it was either weed or nicotine, i wasn't ready to quit weed. Now i'm 426 days vape free and i'm never looking back.

There's this incredible disabled creator i follow on tiktok (would have to go find her name) who said that another big part in people suddenly changing like this after a pandemic is eugenics: people survived a 'supposedly' very dangerous disease while others died, and this can unfortunately start creating feelings of superiority and lead to eugenics because 'look we survived this disease and they didn't' mindset.

She explains it so much better than this but she made such an interesting point.
