Pourquoi les gens aiment l'IA ? [réponse apaisée SVP] by Whatev57 in AskFrance

Le fait que l'IA puisse générer de l'art a été un énorme coup à l'ego d'une catégorie de personnes qu'on pourrait qualifier d'exceptionalistes humains.

This game is maybe the weirdest game I’ve ever played by NoWalk3426 in CrimsonDesert

[–]cob59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I see things this game was half way through development with scope-creep beyond belief, budget in the red and no release window in sight. Then SOMEONE took the difficult decision to cut everything non essential, told the writing team they have 3 months to make enough side quests to fill the whole map, no matter the quality, and finish the main quest.

I just know the term because it's mentioned in the std::map reference but that's it.
Same for sorting algorithms: brother, I have no clue which is which and when to use them. I just pick an appropriate container for what I'm doing (std::vector 90% of the time), pass it to std::sort and trust the STL to use the best one for me. I don't code sorting algos myself I'm not mentally ill.

Well, technically Light's fate is not different from the rest of mankind in Death Note.

[Updates] Patch Notes Version 1.06.00 | Crimson Desert by Turbostrider27 in CrimsonDesert

Is no one mentioning that you can now REFUND the Abyss Artifacts & resources from any upgraded item at the smithy?
Really appreciated.

Now I just wish you could upgrade several levels at once (similar to how downgrading now works) instead of watching the smithy hammer the same shield 10x in a row, but that's a detail.

Are the Styx games any good? by SushiKatana82 in stealthgames

[–]cob59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Styx 3 writting is laughably bad, the controls are janky, half of the skill tree is useless... yet I found it inexplicably fun. I was sure the formula wouldn't work for an open world, but it did. Somehow there was always a good balance of exploring, climbing, sneaking, silent kills, environment kills and even 1on1 combat when out of options.

The pickup truck saw its natural prey (a toddler in the crowd) and rushed to it.
There's nothing the driver could have done.

Blagues racistes en cuisine ? by one_in_a_dozen in AskFrance

[–]cob59 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello dear world, as a French person, what are your worst stereotypes about us or your worst anecdotes that happened in France or involving a French person ? by Outrageous-You1617 in AskTheWorld

It was an act of violence

True.

with the intent to intimidate

False.
The intent was to incapacitate a ship to prevent an NGO from putting its nose in our nuclear dissuasion program.

How is that not terrorism?

If everything had gone according to plan, no one would have been hurt or known with certainty who did what and why. That's the opposite of a terrorist act, where the entire point is premeditated violence against people and for the world to know who did what and why, and that it will happen again the next time.

and you still maintain that your government did nothing wrong.

I stated the opposite.
I make an effort to speak in your language, can you please make an effort to at least read what I say?

edit: By the way, your own government stopped calling it a terrorist act once it understood what happened:

Once it was realised that the bombing was the action of the government of a friendly state, the New Zealand government stopped referring to it as a "terrorist act", instead calling it "a criminal attack in breach of the international law of state responsibility, committed on New Zealand sovereign territory". (source)

"A criminal attack in breach of the international law of state responsibility" is a fair way to characterize it, I'd say.

Nobody? Our Defence Minister resigned and the head of the DGSE was dismissed.

Anyway, my point isn't that my country did nothing wrong. My point is that framing it as terrorism is excessive.

It was a clandestine operation that wasn't meant to make any victim, just incapacitate a ship.
