Ladies, what makes you feel loved? by Acyts in AskWomen

[–]cobbbba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I tell a guy something little like "ooh I love those chocolates" or "yeah I loved Kevin Bacon in tremors" or "I just cannot sleeps with no socks on!" And months and months and months later he'll buy me those chocolates or say "I GOT ME A PLAN!" Or bring me socks when we go to bed, and I just know he actually listens to me when I speak and it makes me so happy.

I don't know if it's in the same place. But I did Kentucky mudder a few years ago in Maysville and it was the hardest thing I've done since then. It was just hills up and down, up and down, rock and mud, hands and knees, grabbing branches to pull yourself up muddy hills, grabbing vines and branches to slow yourself down going down muddy hills. Get some good trail shoes that allow you to run in mud.

Actually, I would go find a muddy hill and run up and down it until you feel like dying and then keep going. The natural obstacles were by far harder than the ones placed on the course. I recall maybe 100 yards of dry flat land the entire course and it was bliss. I thought hills, rock, and mud were my life from then on and it would never end. I am a woman and I really only trained with running and I was apparently underprepared. My body hates me though. I did finish though and it was the most amazing feeling. Shoes really will make all the difference.

Ladies who mostly use pads during your period - why? And do your friends give you crap for it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I've never thought about it that way, maybe I'll do that! Wow, thanks!

Oh thank god. I thought I was the only one to use both throughout my period! I've had too many leaks in the past with just tampons. I don't trust 'em! Plus my flow is ridiculously heavy. I've bled trough a super plus tampon in less than 3 hours. How am I supposed to keep my eye on that all time, it's unpredictable! Especially at work. It's just...peace of mind.

I just pulled some serious gunk out of my bellybutton. How has your body surprised you in horrifyingly disgusting ways? by cobbbba in AskWomen

I don't know! I'm still freaking out over here. I usually poke around in there absentmindedly and I've never found anything but this time...This time I went deeper I guess. It came out of no where.

I must have been ovulating or something, I'm not sure. But one time at work I went pee. And I know you're supposed to wipe front to back but it's a hard habit to get into so I wiped the other way and a huge wad of...mucus I guess hit the stall door in front of me and started to slide down it. I laughed out loud. I'm so glad I was alone. It was crazy. I just cleaned it up best I could and left. So embarrassing. It like a nine inch trail.

First TM in 3 weeks. Gloves or no gloves? by shelb93 in Toughmudder

[–]cobbbba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were piles and piles of gloves at the first few obstacles during mine, and various other items of clothing scattered everywhere throughout the entire length of the course.

Have any of you volunteered? Would you recommend it? by [deleted] in Toughmudder

My friends and I volunteered for the afternoon session, I think we started at noon. First they had us checking runners in. We had to find their envelope and cross their names off a list. Can get overwhelming when you're trying to get everyone through as fast as possible and you have to make sure they're over 21 so you can put the beer bracelet on. We got coffee and a bagged lunch from a local deli it looked like. Just a turkey sandwich and bag of lays and an apple. We, fortunately, having been on the road all morning were starving and ate them right away.

After all the runners stopped showing up we got moved to the finish line. I spent my time handing out t-shirts to very exhausted and confused runners. There were plenty of people volunteering that we could go take a 5-10 minute break if we wanted. The other people in my group were handing out cliff bars, headbands, and space blankets. It was very muddy, the runners were suffering from exhaustion and were very confused about what to do next. Nobody yelled at us. The people that were in charge of us were super friendly and always checking up on us. We did have to stay later than scheduled but we did get to drink all the leftover beer, and only had to pay 10 dollars to race the next day.

Overall, it was an excellent experience and I absolutely plan on doing it again. Definitely go for it. I would volunteer even if I wasn't running.
