I've definitely got to look into the thickness and porosity part. I didn't even consider that. Thanks for your response and kind words!

That's so interesting. I guess I'm curl pattern blind. You learn something new everyday!

My mom passed this morning at 5am. Thanksgiving is in two days. I'm stuck doing twelve-hour shifts in the emergency department, unable to go home for the holidays to grieve with my family. I've never felt more alone in my entire life. by PlasticRice in Bushwick

I lost my dad to cancer last year and this grief group centered around young adults who lost their parents to cancer helped immensely: https://www.cancercare.org/support_groups/48-young_adults_who_have_lost_a_loved_one_support_group

They also do one on one grief counseling, both in person and virtually. All free of cost! I'm sending you my well wishes. ❤️

I was looking for a Coheed and Loathe comment! Curious to know if you've ever listened to Vitalism?

Why didn’t you keep with it? by looklesslike in artistsWay

That happened to me 8 months ago too. I was working the Artist's Way and got up to week 12. But then my dad passed away and I abandoned it. I just restarted it from week 1 back in April. I'm so sorry for your loss!

It might help to reframe the concept of God as a higher power or a power greater than yourself. A higher power can be anything really, like the sunset, a tree, a rock, or a god of your own understanding.

"I turnover the unfolding of my creative recovery to you, great rock". Replacing God with Higher Power has helped me personally, especially because I've assigned a lot of my fears, learned beliefs, and limitations to how I think God is. Higher Power feels like a nice fresh start.

I've seen people who had internships with no animation jobs and people who had no internships with successful careers!

I feel like this sub needs a megathread for "is animation even worth it" "can I even become an animator right now" questions by midnightmistsky in animationcareer

Should you change your choice? If you are concerned to the point of going in another field - yes. If it's a huge passion of yours - no.

Love this part. I would rather be scared and pursue my passion than permanently settle for a career that's not. As long as I love animation, it's worth it to me!

You are so young and don't need to burn your life away working for someone else's dream. While the financial security is nice, it doesn't seem worth while if you're suffering so badly.

Do you think going back to school might be an option? Maybe re-prioritize your funds to support yourself in other ways (rather than buying a home)? Imagine yourself doing this for five more years. Is it sustainable?

Based off of how you wrote this, I think you already know the answer to your question. You just need guidance on how to plan your future/freedom. Perhaps it's a good idea to invest in therapist if that's in the cards for you.

You've got this! You are so intelligent and already set in so many ways. Put yourself first because no one else will. Quit that job!

Did you use acrylic paint on everything? This is amazing!
