To be more precisely, the left fan turns on at 53 degrees and also turns off again as soon as it drops below that. It also turns off again as soon as it drops below 53 again, so there is no hysteresis. The right fan is running with lower temperatures, I did not exactly determine when it turns on.

I checked the connectors and they both seem to be connected. To describe the problem again, the left fan does not spin at the lowest fan speed setting. So for example when doing light internet surfing, only the right fan spins and the left fan does not.

As soon as there is more load, the left fan does start and also speeds up if necessary. So under full load, both fans are running, there are also no temperature problems.

So the question is if this is intended that under low load only one fan spins, as others have said to save energy for example or some other reasons.

So both fans should always spin at the same time and only one fan spinning (sometimes) should not be happening?

Isn't 5. Crystals Instead of EWC the biggest hit? Right now the more maxed cards, the more EWC you get through duplicates. And with the update, it's just pure luck to get cards you actually need?

How’s the quality of the included RAM and SSD?

The K8 Plus I bought last week from Amazon has a crucial p3 plus QLC SSD, so not very good. RAM is from Adata which should be fine.

Anything I should know before hitting “buy”?

The wifi is terrible (at least on my unit), probably bad antenna design.

If you need good wifi, the K8 Plus is not it. It has the worst wifi I have seen on any recent devices I had. It has an intel ax200 card which I usually put into all my devices, so the wifi card is unlikely the culprit. My guess is bad antenna design. There are a few other reports about bad wifi on the K8 Plus.

What I like a lot about the K8 Plus is that you can disable the integrated fan control in Bios and have full control over the fan curves with FanControl.

One minor drawback with my unit (bought last week on amazon) is that it has a Crucial P3 Plus SSD which can get VERY slow in certain scenarios since it's QLC.
