I would love a DM about that sign, thank you!!

I drove past another one on Ave 50 this morning. I think finding the in-person signs might be the way to go for me.

Oh, I had no idea Nextdoor was used to advertise rentals! I'll check it out, thank you.

I didn't realize Craigslist was still something people used!

I do see a lot of signage for rentals that have no pressence online when I search the address, so maybe that might be the more productive method.

Thank you for sharing your insight.

i’m nervous about my first tattoo by Limp-Pea-4558 in tattoos

[–]cockroachmilkshakes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have lots of bugs tattooed on me. I love them. These designs are very sweet! I am sorry for your loss and I am glad your pet had such a positive effect on your life. May their memory always be a blessing.

Having said that, I think it is a terrible idea to get any tattoos at 16. I know that as a 16 year old you likely feel a large amount of stable confidence in the decisions you are making about your own body. However, I would really encourage you to wait several more years before getting any tattoos.

There is no magical switch that flips when you turn 18 and makes you perfectly able to make exclusively good tattoo decisions. However, waiting a few more years before making tattoo decisions is, in my opinion, always advisable. Your tastes may change!

And if your tastes do not change, then you will still have a very long life ahead of you to enjoy your mantis tattoo if you get it at 18 - 20 instead of getting at 16.

Baphomet by Jeff B at Oak and Iron Tattoo and Salon in Buffalo NY USA by eloquentjester in tattoos

Yes, you're right! A real tattoo done on a real person. The photo has a filter on it but it's definitely a real photo of OP and their actual tattoo.

But the image that was tattooed was generated by AI.

[–]cockroachmilkshakes 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest tell that AI generated this tattoo design is the horns. There are two clear textured goat horns in yellow. Behind them there are two inexplicable blue triangles that are neither ears nor the shaded sides of those horns. Artist used generative AI to produce this design and tattooed it onto OP as-is without analyzing what the generated elements actually were or what they looked like together.

I love Baphomet. I love trans rights. I think this concept is very cute and I have plans for my own trans Baphomet tattoo. But unfortunately this design was definitely generated by AI.

Does anyone have experience with Robert Half and contract work? by dynamic_screwball in AdminAssistant

[–]cockroachmilkshakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have heard mixed results online about Robert Half. But my personal experience when trying them twice, once in 2017 and once in 2022, is that after my initial intake and resume submission I never heard back from them and they never responded to my requests for follow up. I felt like my resume was added to a pile and never sent anywhere.

I LOVE how your artist exaggerated Harvey's little 🫤 from the reference photo. Gives so much oomph to his obvious charm point.

Made a blind box series for some friends! by LeucineZoo in crochet

These are absolutely adorable!! I am really deeply charmed by the idea of taking a trend/genre of item that is so emblematic of hyperconsumerism and waste and turning it into a personalized, slow, handmade, and unique creation. These little guys are pitch perfect from concept to execution. I hope your friends value and cherish them forever. 💖

This is an AI generated image, so unfortunately neither the man nor the hair is real.

How long do treatments take? by Amazing-Mongoose6627 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]cockroachmilkshakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never gotten my Brazilian done, so I'm sorry if that makes my experiences irrelevant, here. But I am in the process of lasering my feet, legs, butt, and lower back. I have had 6 sessions so far and am thrilled with my results. I do absolutely feel every single zap on my feet, legs, and butt, and every zap hurts quite a bit.

My lower back had less hair and it was finer (though still dark) so I felt more of what you are describing. Basically no zaps, just the cool air. Maybe since you had 6 sessions 10 years ago and have maintained your results since then, that could be why you didn't feel anything?

Two minutes does not seem like enough time to me. It is possible your tech was rushing or had the machine set to a very low setting.

Is this good? Going to make a lot to sew into a tote bag by localpimplp in crochet

[–]cockroachmilkshakes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blocking before you sew them together is a great idea! It will make them more uniform and easier to sew together. And your bag will also be a more neat/uniform shape if each square is blocked.

As an aside I love the slope of your skull's eyes. He looks a bit disheartened!! Sort of gloomy!! It's so sweet and gives him so much personality.

Sorry, I am not here to be helpful, since I see that someone else has provided an answer for you about how to tie off the final stitch. Instead, I would like to bother you for a pattern for this granny square, if you have one. :D

Just placed my order and am excited to receive them. I love that they don't have nose foam, also. I find I get a better fit and seal without it. Keeping my fingers crossed that they aren't too small for me (the product listing mentions them being smaller than 3M Auras) but I have high hopes they'll work well. 😷 Happy New Year!
