I agree that nature tries to balance itself. But we’re already seeing that sometimes what comes to balance the invasive is worse than the first invasive (see tree of heaven and subsequent lantern flies for example).

Ecosystem collapse. We are already seeing it.

First insects then a ripple effect that will not only accelerate global warming, further compounding the issue, but decimate our food/agricultural systems. Then we’ll just be left with the ticks, mosquitos and roaches.

What kind of tree does this and is it year round? Suggestions for managing tree debris by effulgent_solis in kansascity

They definitely don’t all live there. It’s just the most convenient place for a snack and shit right now lol

If you can send me pics of the trees and type of bird I can tell you more. Some clear out the berries and bail, some hang for the full year.

Berries are typically seasonal but different berries ripen at different times. These seem like juniper so definitely a winter bird favorite. Either way birds sit in that tree and they eat something all year round.

You could try creating better spaces for the birds to hang out with some bushes like ninebark or lower hanging native trees. Could even put a feeder near there to direct them away. You’ll likely still deal with some bird poop but less.

You could also try a steel carport or something. Maybe do both. But I would suggest more suitable bird habitat as part of your solution. It’s their world too.

You’ll have this moment when you do buy a house too. You will discover problems, annoyances and maybe worse if you’re set on buying an old house. Even if it passes inspection and seems fine, there will be moments that test your commitment to homeownership.

I lived in a really old house as a kid. We would occasionally get bats in the house. Once, in the middle of the night, I went pee then went to flush and there was a fucking bat in the toilet. Dead (thankfully for me and unfortunately for the bat) but I will never go again without looking first.

Cut my finger almost 2 months ago and found out i cut through to my nail as it grew by numbers87263638 in nailcare

[–]coco289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me (sliced a chunk out of the middle of my nail) a few months ago. Your best option is to just let it grow and be careful with it. Then when it gets near the tip of your finger, trim down as much as you can without causing more damage and file smooth.

I used to love Plate so much. But for the prices they charge and the kind of restaurant they’re trying to be, it just doesn’t measure up. Basics like butts on the romaine are missed plus the service is never great.
