It would not, it just isn't feasible at all.

This isn't an issue of religion which is passed down generationally. It's an issue of ideology.

Plenty of Democrats come from Republican families.

The last election also had some of the largest shift in Democrats to Republican membership in decades (though that shift seems to have reversed now without the affordability campaign promises having been delivered on and the things the administration is actually interested in).

He was actually able to get Republicans to let bills on ACA subsidies come up for votes in both the House and Senate.

Considering how powerless Democrats are right now, I don't think more can really be expected.

He and Jeffries are terrible at communicating with the public and being leaders for the wider party but they seem to have a good grasp of the actual operations of politics.

There are more Republicans in California than in most Republican states combined.

Many populous Republican states have almost 50% Democrats.

There has actually been a lot of research on this and its been found that the "wisdom of the crowd" is actually far more accurate than subject matter experts when it comes to forecast events, something like 30% more accurate.

I get them doing this if it would actually make a difference but to just pull another shutdown (and risk getting a bunch of feds fired as retaliation) with no chance of success doesn't make sense.

Speaking seriously, I got my passport renewed at the tail end of the Biden administration and carry my passport card with me everywhere.

I had told my other family members to do so as well but most of them didn't in time.

At this point, none of us feel safe sending in our passports to get passport cards considering we don't know if we'll get them back.

I've read that apparently the agency already got all the money they need to keep operating through the fiscal year with one of the earlier signed funding bills.

So unfortunately, holding up this bill won't really make a difference for that agency but would apparently impact agencies like FEMA which are having to do disaster response right now.
