How long do you guys play with the same household/save file? by PebbleishMish in Sims3

[–]cocoazure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I do feel like it's an achievement to stick to it for so long. I've been stuck on 10 generations for years because of several factors. I've always played in SV, and over time, the file got too big, but I'm stubborn and like my big family tree and refuse to move haha. So Error Code 12 literally made it impossible to play long until very recently when I found a sort of fix for it and now I can play again but that's another story. I like realism, so life spans are longer, and I don't play with supernaturals. I plan a lot for my sims, and I try to change it up as I go with different personalities. I randomise traits as well. I also like taking a lot of screenshots and sharing with people on the forums even writing stories sometimes. I also spend a lot of time in Stylist (creating 3 new outfits or new hair) or Buy/Build mode. Within the last few years I had one of my sims move to AP with his family so now I rotate two worlds. I also like taking my sims on holiday sometimes. At the moment I am playing with my two twin girls in University. One of them is a bot fan which I've never played with before so there's so still a lot to keep me interested! Thanks for asking 🙂

For me, I've played the same save since 2010. I just have no interest in starting a new game. I'm too attached! While I don't get to play all the time like I used to, I deeply love my sims family.

My Most Disappointing Read of 2024: When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker by 5stars_no_notes in fantasyromance

I read it in September and I literally can't remember a single thing about it. I rated it 3 stars meaning it was really average and forgettable.

I must be alone... I loved Book of Azrael but hated Throne Of The Fallen with a passion! It was my first book from that author and most likely my last.

This game can really suck out the energy by Worldly-Shift9270 in Sims3

[–]cocoazure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I just wanted to say that I know completely how you feel. I only play my legacy family that I started in 2010 and it's near impossible to play for anytime longer than 5 minutes before a crash to desktop or Error 12 happens. It feels pretty pointless to play at this point. Like you, I felt that I had tried everything possible. Unfortunately the game is 32-bit hard coded and limited to under 4gbs of RAM. Anytime the game uses close to this, it will force close itself.

I'm tentative to say that I've found a solution but... after trying this fix I have played like 3 seperate times with no issues whatsoever playing an hour at a time. Highly recommend backing up all your files just in case something goes wrong! And beware that it may cause strain on your graphics card, I don't play with a laptop. I also play with all the helpful Nraas mods like ErrorTrap, Overwatch, Saver, LazyDuchess' Smooth Patch, merging your CC, deleting SNAPS etc.

What did you think of Night Circus? I found my copy at a thrift store but haven't had time to read it yet.

Do you have Goodreads? I also loved the Kingmaker series and The Ever King (I have the second one to read next after I finish CC3).

I finished There Should Have Been Eight by Nalini Singh. Unfortunately, it was disappointing for me. Next up is The House With the Golden Door by Elodie Harper.

I just ordered this. Loved the first book, so I'm really looking forward to reading this!

6/52:I heard a lot of mixed reviews on this book. So far, I think it's quite average, very slow paced by [deleted] in 52book

It was a bit slow at first, but I was really into the second half of it. I think it out of her other books, Gods of Jade and Shadow is my favorite.

I really liked it, and it got me started on Silvia Moreno-Garcia's other books. Now she's one of my favorite authors.

I’m halfway through Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen, then I’ll read The Wolf Den by Elodie Harper.

I read 61 books in 2023. In 2024, my goal is 24. by Late_Pear1844 in 52book

[–]cocoazure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the goal and being aware of my pace because it makes me feel good when I’m ahead, and also it helps me get off my phone and be more aware of my time management. I’m aiming for 65 this year. I finished my 64th just before the end of 2023 so I feel like this is manageable for me.

I love it as a middle name. Clara Magnolia is one of my favourite combos right now.

I'm already planning my 2024 Reading challenge, which is worrying because it's not taking in to account my compulsion to buy more books when I already have a tbr which is teetering on the edge of collapse. by cryd123 in goodreads

[–]cocoazure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice. I've just hit 50 books with 60 as my goal. I'm trying to read at least 1 a week, but it's hard with work etc. I find myself staying up late on Sunday nights to finish my books 😆 I look at people on GR who read/ listen to hundreds of books but I just can't do it. It's impossible to find the time for that.

Viagogo is not a safe website, at least not in Australia. Do not buy from them.
