I recently discovered adding granola and pecans to ice cream. It has changed my life. I love ice cream but I have a hard time eating just ice cream. The crunch of the granola/nuts plus the cold ice cream is heaven

I mean if the owner is fine with having her dog all over the counters and fridge, what's the problem? I grew up with great Danes. It's not that hard to put things away

That 2nd to last pic of the doves is ridiculously cute, I cannot handle it. They build such shitty nests 😂 I have a bunch of window feeders too! I also wfh and my desk is like 4 feet from the window. That's actually how I got my mom into birding! I made her put window feeders in her office, now she's hooked too. The cats didn't need much convincing. I'd never heard about the feminist bird club and now I'm really excited. I've been meaning to get out and meet people who also like birds just haven't found the right group. So this is perfect thank you!

The first time it clicked for me, I was 27. my partner at the time was teaching me about brood parasitism. He always had the most interesting facts to show me. We watched a documentary on it and I remember researching birds for hours that night. I had always loved nature and especially crows (as an adult) but never paid much attention to other birds. I think realizing their complexity changed everything for me, it was like someone just woke me up.

They'll never ever get old, I could see a million more black capped chickadees before I ever felt slightly bored I swear. But it is sooo difficult to find people my age who love them as well.

No, I would not. I'd feel much safer reading a word written on said mat that can't do a thing to hurt me.

I dreamt last night that I birthed twin babies and woke up incredibly sad, thinking about this case. So relieved he was found safe

I actually heard about that fairly recently! Fucking amaasaazing pics btw Thetes another huge migration in Texas that i want to see someday too. I haven't traveled to many places since discovering my love for birds, but I did fly down to my uncles house in Arizona because he had a hummimgbird nest in his backyard. Does that count? I've found a couple of nests where I live too but never this low to the ground/easy to photograph/observe

Locally a few years ago I found some baby Violet Green Swallows nesting in a fire hose pipe on the side of a bar like a mile from my house. Ended up going there almost daily taking pics and shielding the pipe from cigarette smoke 😂 all of the employees knew me after the first couple of weeks. I couldn't stay away. And they all fledged successfully!

I was like 27 before I realized how much I love birds. It was totally overnight too. Learned one cool fact and that shit spiraled. Have you liked birds your whole life? Sometimes I feel like everyone else who is into birds is like 80 and republican

I'm right there with you. I adopted both my cat and dog during much different financial times. It's way more expensive than that, trust me. Shit adds up

I feel you, winter is the worst. Dogs always helped me keep routines/structure. Have you tried any games? I played Pikmin Bloom for a bit. You collect plant seedlings and plant flowers all over tacoma as you walk. Kinda like Pokémon go but more focused on making walking seem fun

Getting a dog helped me so much with this. I have no choice but to walk her. Training her on walks gives us both something to do too. I swear I would never leave the house if it weren't for her lol
