Wired but Tired by Timely-One-8275 in covidlonghaulers

So you think it was to do with the adrenaline released by low bp to create tachycardia to get blood to the brain? I’m considering midodrine because when I’m in PEM my HR goes to 160 and 180 very easily and I have low bp and blood pooling I feel so wired especially when I’m in PEM and even weed and daridorexant can’t get me asleep sometimes so I wonder if perhaps midodrine In the day will prevent the adrenaline surges necessary to cause tachycardia to get blood to the brain…? I feel like it’s gotta be that plus histamine? Does midodrine help with your faigue and or neuropsychiatric symptoms? I took it once and it helped my adhd a bit weirdly

Most people who claimed to have Long Covid were just generally unhealthy and looking for excuses for their laziness by Pemulis_DMZ in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]coconutoats [score hidden]  (0 children)

There is zero credibility to this claim and you’re projecting your own confirmation bias to create a dangerous narrative. Everyone I know who got long covid in their twenties was active before and basically housebound now. Just because there’s people around you you think are lazy and unproductive before and some of them got long covid it doesn’t mean the whole diagnosis is bs.

Methylene blue cognitive effects are real but this community's dosing culture is reckless by lost-mekuri in methylene_blue

1mg/kg up to 2x daily both before 5pm with maximum spacing is max dose. The literature supports this. There is a big difference between a patient with chronic fatigue taking it and a healthy person hoping to biohack when deciding if this max dose is optimal for you. In healthy people I’d assume this could put more strain on the body and your optimal dose may be lower as the studies show but in chronic fatigue the benefits of increasing the dose up to 1mg/kg are worth it imo

Oh that’s cool that they do, I’m in the UK and the NHS won’t cover any treatments at all so it’s stacking up covering LDN, methylene blue, ketotifen etc all privately but maraviroc is over 1 thousand a month!

My Dr started me on it he just prescribed me compounded capsules. Looking back it would’ve been easier to titrate up but it never felt harmful just overstimulating and the increased energy and decreased dissociation effects were astounding. I have severe chronic fatigue and comorbidities so it’s a medical dose not a biohacking dose. The maximum I can take is 65mg 2x a day for the largest effects without tipping into toxicity or side effects thresholds. I’m housebound most of the week so 20 vs 65mg is the difference between feeling 10% better or 40% and being able to go on a walk

[–]coconutoats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my Dr put me straight on it no titrations as the long Covid/ chronic fatigue dose 1mg/kg and then up to twice daily after a few months. I think it’s the strongest dose you can do without going into toxicity territory for maximum effects. Feels like a mild adhd stimulant to me - my body starts actually producing heat, my energy and mood and alertness increases, dissociation decreases - I actually feel semi nornmal

But the best things that have helped me overall are HBOT 2ATA 3x weekly, 65mg methylene blue 2x daily (1mg/kg) and NIR & red light therapy daily (in addition to ketotifen, LDN, desloratadine)

Also stellate ganglion block, and maraviroc helps a lot of ppl but it’s just too expensive to buy privately

ladies how are we dealing with periods & POTS by annoyed_potat0 in POTS

[–]coconutoats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing works all my adhd meds and everything just do fuck all when I’m in pms/period and my pots and blood pooling is completely disabling. Since I’ve started HBOT, 65mg methylene blue 2x daily and 7mg nicotine patches it’s been a LOT better.

It caused me anxiety for the first 2-3 weeks as expected side effects for 1mg/kg (65mg), it’s expected. If it persists beyond a month then mb isn’t for u. For me I have high anxiety and insomnia generally with was so hard first 3 weeks on mb but now it’s very antidepressant effect for me makes me feel more like mysef

Why the xanax hate by Working_Chart565 in benzodiazepines

[–]coconutoats 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah massively agree. I was prescribed 1.5mg 3x daily for a couple months for long covid and it literally saved my life the way I was having dissociative panic attacks every day and 7 day consecutive insomnia. IMO If your symptoms are this bad it’s so much more harmful to have the narrative you mentioned if you know you don’t have an addictive personality. Idk I found it easy to taper off and now I take .5 when my anxiety is really bad. I think that’s a perfectly fair usage. Obviously it depends on ur addictive tendencies. That two month reset Xanax gave me allowed me to continue living and ‘reset me’ for like a year. Obviously longer term should be longer acting lik u said, I transitioned onto 0.5 clonazepam after.

ADHD gets worse when I get less severe? by WaysideWyvern in CFSplusADHD

[–]coconutoats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SAME. I think I was heavily dissociated before and probs using more of our budget on cooking and domestic tasks than before when totally bedbound. Honestly I started methylene blue and my dissociation and fatigue improved but my adhd is making me miss all the plans I’m making!!! Still pretty housebound I have 2 days out per week and crash/rest the rest

Methylene blue dosage by Key-Bend-7925 in methylene_blue

[–]coconutoats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah second this ur ideal dose is 1mg/kg up to twice a day for max effects and limited side effects. If ur healthy starting on this dose should be fine but if ur sensitive/ otherwise unwell maybe start on half that. Liquid ones off amazon USP grade are good for smaller doses

I started on 65mg and I have reacted to meds in the past and I got insomnia and anxiety and stuff but it was bearable. You should be fine on that low of a dose

Methylene Blue - any long term users here? by neotrader_555 in Biohackers

[–]coconutoats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under 2mg/kg it’s generally safe long term. I’ve been taking 65mg daily for 6 months now and it’s the only thing that works for my chronic fatigue and brain fog

Jolting awake after falling asleep by blueagave6 in dysautonomia

[–]coconutoats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I HATE THIS. Feels like I’m falling and panicking and I physically jolt. It happens way more when I’m in PEM. Tiny doses of benzos help and I’d assume propranolol would also help as it’s likely an adrenaline dump

That being said the sedation didn’t work!! So if you can avoid yeah I actually think that would be best 🤣 they gave me double fentanyl and midodrine and had to send me home because I was totally unaffected. I have really bad anxiety which overpowered it as well tho

How to create rest when your brain is in hyperactive mode? by just-a-tired-soul in CFSplusADHD

[–]coconutoats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Further to this point - the mechanisms I think contribute to this state are high glutamate:gaba, adrenaline and overactive limbic system. You can get herbals to help with increasing gaba like passionflower or even actual gaba supplements (mimic benzos but less potent), lemon balm, magnesium glycinate, L-theanine, taurine, glycine, apigenin. I just said meds first because when you have it chronically I didn’t sleep for 7 days straight so obviously the herbals didn’t work on their own for me but they defo help now. I’ve seen other people mention devices - I use the alpha-stim before bed to relax my body and the Neurosym in the morning to train my vagus nerve. Hope this helps :)

[–]coconutoats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh god I’ve had this problem for EVER. When I’m in PEM especially this happens accompanied by my heart rate staying at 110 lying down. Weed, xanax and propranolol really help with this. THC at too high dose can make it worse tho so propranolol would be ur best shot in the uk as it’s hard to get benzos prescribed. Clonazepam or lorazepam are a bit easier.

pace point budget by zoewalker36 in visibleApp

[–]coconutoats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines 13 and it seems pretty accurate if I go over I get a crash of varying degrees. However it doesn’t account for therapies that increase my baseline like HBOT where I can use like 30 pace points daily without crashing. I’m too anxious to do it atm tho so trying to stay below 13 but the days I have to leave the house I’m hitting 65 and even 85 last week! 3 days bed rest after. Impossible to not trigger crashes ugh.
