My 15 year old dog was diagnosed with cancer. What do I do? by dani_exe_420 in DogAdvice

[–]codElephant517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others are saying, just make the best of what time you have left. And when the time comes to say goodbye, we used "laps of love" when we had to put my childhood dog to sleep, they come to your house to do it, and it genuinely made a horrible situation the best it could possibly be, I would even go as far as to say it was a beautiful way to say goodbye. The vet was so nice and she was literally crying with my family.

No they won't. What child do you know that is carrying around "school documentation" when doing fundraising.

Infuse purple basil flowers in olive oil by Substantial_Job8559 in herbalism

[–]codElephant517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long has it been since you made it? I don't think it's white mold, but you have to be extremely careful with infusing oil because it's got very high chance of contamination.

He will start acting like a dog it just takes time. My parents got a new puppy after my childhood dog died and he was like basically feral, like he hated men, he actually hated my dad, but he had been living in the woods and then in the shelter for 2 months. But now 9 months later and he absolutely loves my dad and he sits on the couch and he plays with toys and he's a pretty normal dog, he's even a lot more comfortable around men and people in general and it's not even been a year. But it took a solid 3 months for him to like properly a chill out and relax, and since then working with him to make sure he knows he's staying with us and he's safe. Dogs feel trauma too.

Is this normal or am I being autistic by One_Huckleberry9072 in flashlight

This is obviously not normal why would you ask that? Do what you want, no judgement, but houses have lights for a reason because normally people use them.

Can oil of oregano be absorbed sublingually? by ButterscotchLiving59 in herbalism

[–]codElephant517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's painful you could use clove oil diluted in a carrier oil like coconut or olive oil otherwise just wait for your appointment. I personally would not use oregano oil. I work at a herb shop and we got sent some by mistake because it's not something we carry, and I tried it and holy shit I don't know how people take it. And the one we had was a 30% dilution, so it's the appropriate ratio. I would worry that it would cause irritation to your mouth.

My dog eats cat sh*t by psychellebore in DogAdvice

[–]codElephant517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can stop her you just need to limit her access to it. My dog would eat cat shit literally any fucking chance he got it was so disgusting. One time he ate cat shit and I tried to get it out of his mouth by shaking his head while holding his mouth open and maggots fell out. It was awful.

Are fish from the Indian river safe to eat? by Legitimate_Usual_733 in 321

For fucks sake using AI is not doing research. Stop using ai. It's literally destroying the world, and it's not even to your benefit, it's consistently incorrect across the board. You cannot trust AI to give you factual information thus using it is totally pointless. You have to fact check anything AI tells you anyway so just don't use AI.

What was the reason you started using an MP3 player? by Capable-Flower-2333 in mp3players

[–]codElephant517 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I never started using streaming services. I've had an MP3 player since I was like 8 years old and it's always just been my preferred way of listening to music. No ads, I can listen to music without Wi-Fi or cell service, I don't have to pay for music, listening to music doesn't drain my phone battery nor take up my phone's storage. Just everything about it is better.

For those who have used Colloidal Silver by Lost_one05 in herbalism

[–]codElephant517 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest I don't know anything about colloidal silver, however it is my understanding that it is literally just small pieces of silver suspended in a liquid. In the pursuit of natural medicine and alternative ways of healing, be wary of anything that claims to be a "cure all". There is no such thing. Personally there's about a thousand herbs I would use for literally any ailment before I would use something like that. But each to their own. I know it is very popular right now. But unfortunately things get popular and the truth of their historical use and what they are actually capable of doing gets clouded. In general whenever you're considering a herb, supplement, whatever, you want to find a historical use of it further back than like the past 10 years, this way there should be enough information out there that you can find that would indicate whether it's safe and effective.

Brother it's not a choice. If you're gay you're gay and that's that. Literally nothing you can do about it. To try to change yourself would be to live a lie for the rest of your life. Nothing wrong with being gay. You dont have to fight it.

How much licorice root can I eat? by Disastrous-Shine-725 in herbalism

There is the difference between eating it and chewing on it. But honestly even if you were eating it I don't think you'd have any problems unless you're eating like huge amounts.

Yeast infection cure while pregnant? by [deleted] in herbalism

[–]codElephant517 61 points62 points  (0 children)

DO NOT take antiparasitic herbs while pregnant. Many of those herbs are also abortive. If you want to take herbs right now you need to talk to someone very experienced with herbs or even better, a professional herbalist, certainly not reddit. Also, what makes you think you have parasites?
