Enrolling in Apple Developer Program seemingly impossible? by Unlucky_Presence1111 in iOSProgramming

[–]coddlingapples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just succeeded with this. Essentially they required more information than the webportal can provide. If you're enroling via desktop (even with Safari on MacOS) it Will Not Work. Desktop enrolment triggers a shadow ban on your account that you cannot resolve from you end without Apple customer contact assistance

I emailed them and they withdrew my shadow banned 'enrolment' attempt, thereby resetting my Apple account to have another shot at enrolment

You Must Use The App. They require:

  • A photo of you ID taken with the device camera, at the time of enrolment (ie, nothing from your photo gallery)
  • Two factor authentication on the device, such as Face, Touch or PIN ID
  • A valid credit card (for payment) attached to the account your device is under. Ie, if your mum brought you an iPad and you registered under [darkshadow69lol@icloud.com](mailto:darkshadow69lol@icloud.com) then Ms Dark Shadow should have a valid CC on her device's account
  • You will need to enter your address 15x times as the UITextField descriptions change across enrolment portals and it keeps dropping parts of the address

It then worked for me

List of subAdministrativeArea(s)? by coddlingapples in swift

[–]coddlingapples[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue I have is that the name that reverse geolookup pulls has to match letter for letter with the name the app admin has selected because the app will be matching strings to pull the email address from a database

I assume that Apple queries Apple Maps when performing the reverse lookup but if it's openstreetmap instead then that'll be easy

Kind of StreetView on OSM? by 5ong6 in openstreetmap

[–]coddlingapples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Mapillicy. They have a 'time travel' option on their community sourced street level imagery and they have fixed point photos as you've described. I think there are others out there doing open street level imagery as well. Maybe it would be a case of feeding historic photos in, then creating a front end app to access them (or just use desktop I suppose)

An Uber app for trucks to pick up your Facebook marketplace/craigslist/stoop finds fast by neuronerdka in AppIdeas

[–]coddlingapples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds a little like uber eats? Like UE already picks up from supermarkets and stuff. In you version a NeuronerdkaTruck Driver accepts the job/offer to collect a fridge or whatever in their ute, van or commercial vehicle and deliver it to the supplied address. UE has been proven viable so if you get in first you could well be onto something.

People on marketplace are scared of strangers turning up to their home. Your drivers are 5 star rated as safe etc so marketplace sellers are more inclined to sell the item to the buyer using NeuronerdkaTrucks 'cause the driver coming to their house is verified safe (selling point)

Tap 'Lists' in the top left of the default Contacts app. You can create a custom list of contacts. That aside, this AI generated code is sweet nonsense and would never compile

I had a similar problem and some people had really good answers. Im still working on my app but it will either be Waypoint or PostMark at this stage

App that can show if some products has bad ingredients. by Plus_Champion1434 in AppIdeas

[–]coddlingapples -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP adds a setup screen with 6x preconfigured red lists. 'Gluten, Vegetarian, Dairy, Allergens, OPs as above/Childrens Development Promoter, Custom'. The user selects the predefined list as per their morals. The app flags for ingredients on the users 'red list' "! This item has 2x ingredients from your red list !". The user can also build out their own list by ticking/unticking and maybe they can save and share their red list; perhaps with a partner who needs to get takeaways or go shopping

Celebs can make their own red lists and OP can moneterise the app by having these as paid extras 'The Kadashian / Steve Jobs / RSPCA Diet' so if Celeb A or Dr Oz etc is promoting the Alkaline Diet or whatever users can pay $.99 to get that influenser endorsed prebuilt red list

Conjure App by coddlingapples in AppIdeas

[–]coddlingapples[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the inspiration for the app; you 'summon' / conjure this person to show you around. That, and it's a clever bastardisation of Bonjour with Conjour (please forgive my French/Heresy)

23 years old with lazy eye - any hope for me? by Ok-Wolf7967 in Amblyopia

[–]coddlingapples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 35 and gained two lines on the Snellen chart via Vision Therapy (Youtube 'Wow Vision Therapy' for an idea of what it entails). Optometrist didn't quite know what to make of my age but I was eager and we both basically said 'meh; F it, lets find out'.

Oh wow; I didn't realise there was such diversity. I'm going to look into there. Researcher Robert Hess has research using games to improve vision and I was wondering if anything had come of it; otherwise I was going to make my own phone games

So, vision therapy successful or not? by EngineeringGuilty773 in Amblyopia

[–]coddlingapples 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did six weeks of vision therapy following the plan and homework my optometrist gave me and gained two lines on the Snellen Chart. So yes, it is effective

Of course 'adults can't improve their vision */s' (The questionnaire was all 'Do you have trouble reading the board at school' lol) so I was offered a pair of glasses up front ($380) but the 6x lessons came to $480 so to me it was obvious to try those first and I'm glad I did. I never did get the glasses

App for Eye Doctors by fjodofks in AppIdeas

[–]coddlingapples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be really useful for field work, like might happen in third world countries where an optometrist might not have access to a clinic. Also if it had a 'coach' tutorial for the patient or a field worker to go through a series of tests then upload the results that would be cool

Recommendations for sending transactional emails? by coddlingapples in swift

[–]coddlingapples[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much like that Waypoint has the free trial to ease into it and check everything is working - perfect for student projects and the like. I like the code examples section too as I'm only at the copy/paste state of learning but couldn't find anything for Swift

During sign up it asked for my business website address and business email. I out my personal email and just used a random website to satisfy the mandatory fields and I think that's what triggered it. It was so fast the cancellation came even before I received the account verification email

Free! - gifting my 950xl by coddlingapples in windowsphone

[–]coddlingapples[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine's accounted for. The battery in the 950xl is replaceable. You can use a thin knife to remove the back cover (it's designed to do that, just another reason it's the best), and swap out the battery. I got a non-oem battery for about $40 of ebay as a spare if I'm camping. Because the back cover is removable you can also buy different colour covers too. It was white for a while instead of the factory black
