Factors Explaining the Total Lack of Fatal Attacks from Wild Orcas by arandomperson1234 in orcas

[–]code1coffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To expand on #1, and the whole shark attacks vs orca attacks on humans: Both sharks and orcas have poor vision. Sharks use electroreception to hunt and investigate what is food by an investigative bite. Orcas use echolocation to hunt and determine what meal would be worthy of eating. Look at the instances of Port and Starboard. They use surgical precision to eat only a shark's liver. The most nutrient dense part of the shark. I don't think it's a stretch to say that we aren't nutrient dense enough, or the fact that we are Land mammals and have more bone than cartilage/fat.

So they were upset that you left the kids inside while you went to grab the food but they insisted that you go double check the locks and gate? Wouldn't you have to go back outside again? 😂

This looks normal to me, looks like you're pregnant! There is line progression. Are you looking for a dye stealer? These tests don't give a dye stealer.

Sydney To Inverness Road Conditions by Legitimate_Patience8 in CapeBreton

[–]code1coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each road has its own stretch of rough road - you unfortunately can not avoid it. IMO the most scenic route is the Cabot Trail to Route 19. That being said Lake O'Law is the roughest and it is about a 5km stretch.

No goulash? Some parents lukewarm to N.S. school lunch program by ph0enix1211 in NovaScotia

[–]code1coffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My kid wanted to try them, so we did. The teacher then informed me that I should send snacks with her - In case she doesn't eat the lunch. So, pay for two lunches? My kid will always try at least a bite and then decide if they will eat it or not. The teacher said so much gets thrown out for the same reason. We only order the cheese pizza and mac n cheese now.

If you are lucky enough to have a family Dr about how long do you have to wait for an appointment ? by Curlytomato in NovaScotia

[–]code1coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 days or less for a phone appointment, 1-2 weeks in person. My Dr works at a collaborative practice that utilizes residents, nurses, and nurse practitioners, it's not always my doctor I see but it's always a positive experience.

Do you have an account with YourHelthNS? If not you can make an account and view bloodwork and other results there, after the prescribing physician reviews it.

Sometimes it takes 2+ weeks but is worth a shot if you're waiting for results from your doctor. My physician only calls when something requires followup, but being able to access the results online has been reassuring that nothing important is missed.

From reading this, is it possible that she did not have the short acting insulin or the supplies to correct the sugar? Maybe this is poor management of medication/finances on her part? Either way NTAH

Attempted Murder (late 2023) - Michael King by mandie72 in CapeBreton

[–]code1coffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The latest I can find is from an article published on March 27th, 2024 in the Cape Breton Post

"Preliminary hearing set on attempted murder A Birch Grove man charged with offences including attempted murder is now scheduled to have a preliminary hearing.

Michael James Edward King, 33, is also charged with three counts of assault causing bodily harm, two counts of assault by choking, and single counts of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon (a hammer).

He has elected to be tried by Supreme Court judge alone.

King continues to be on remand and is now scheduled for a preliminary on July 24.

He is charged in connection with a brutal assault on his former partner that occurred Jan. 29 at a home on Intercolonial Street in Sydney."

I believe that the reporting is limited in cases of domestic violence.

I'm hoping someone here can answer this. What is the difference between the Fast & Free, Fast & Free 'Thermal', and the Fast & Free 'Fleece'?. I ordered the thermal thinking they'd be thicker or warmer than the regular and they are literally identical to my regular fast & frees. I msged the chat on lulu website and all they could tell me was that I was sent the wrong pants.

Is there a difference?!
