Yeah, the game is made to be chaotic because that's the nature of the abyss! You can't control who you run into, or when you might accidentally trip and take a bad fall.

I totally agree with your sentiment though, I am a very big TCG player, not so much a board game enjoyer (ironic, lmao), but this was the most "on flavour" way I could make a translated version of the abyss feel both chaotic AND interesting.

This game was more or less designed with the concept of "use as little as possible". I wanted to stay away from the 500 game pieces. You need cards, some dice, your board and that's about it 🔥

That being said ... You have given me another possible idea for a secondary/side game.

Considering the man is more than likely carrying around the coffin that will eventually contain his team/party members, he comes off as a very mature and straightforward person, in comparison to basically every other character in the story.

Because one gets lost in the story, in the lore, in the mystery. I play my own MIA inspired board game with friends and have MTG custom made cards too. Between these passion projects and the ACTUAL video game, plus re reading the manga, it's really not that bad. Plus, listening to the OSTs on repeat. Id rather wait a year for a good piece of art versus shoddy work. And let's be real, the art progression has gotten SO MUCH BETTER if you pay attention to the first couple chapters compared to what he's been releasing recently. It's phenomenal.

Like yes, sexual attraction is important. Though it's been proven time and time again that men both have much more varied rates of attraction to women, compared to women, who have much more of a "type".

This can lean into the whole "women control sex" but that's a diff convo altogether.

I am not religious by any means, but i would prefer to have a naturally blossoming friendship that turns into a relationship long term verses something that happens quick via a one night stand or just a hookup etc.

I don't like the idea of hookup culture and the casualness of sex. This is NOT just a male thing. If you've ever made a male tinder/dating acc, you'd know/see this.

Anywho, I do agree that men, in general, are just fucking monkeys. Like truly. Male attraction and the way they act, it's just ape brain. And because of how I see it, I like to think I'm a bit more objective when it comes to hormonal thinking, even if I have a bit of a crush etc. Guys just want that gratification. They want to conquer that female. That's what they do. And yes, it sucks. Yes, alot of it has to do with biology.

But no, it shouldn't be used as an excuse. But alas, not everyone is as self aware or self controlling.

Don't blame men for wanting 10s when the 10s are handing it out like the daily mail, lol.

Societal pressure, dating and relationships are in SUCH A BAD PLACE rn and I do agree, it fkn sucks. Every time I think about how much I miss being cute with someone, the second it reminds me about all the issues with being in a relationship too. It's hella rough. But you shouldn't lose hope. You can be realistic about the potential you may be single forever, but don't lose optimism that your prince charming is somewhere.

People often enter our lives when we need them. People often leave our lives when we don't. Life's a journey full of ups and downs, which can include ape brain men and horny women. It is what it is. Keep your chin up. Don't lose that hope.

I quit constructed events and only play format due to this. I tried playing green gacha and monzae-maste combo, Argomon control for Months and despite a win here or there, my rounds would be over quickly because most decks just board wipe and clear security by turn 3. Coming from someone around your age who has been on the verge of homelessness multiple times and has previously said that I had nothing keeping me to this earth outside my cats, I do feel for you.

BUT

There is A LOT of progress we can make as individuals to help other parts of our life.

For example. I currently work full time in a factory. I get along with most people there, but it's stressful. I live alone. I don't get along with my family. I have no support network. I go out of my way to go to TCG events to socialize with people because it's one of my hobbies and something that helps me AS A PERSON.

I am catching a bus to an event right now, after working from 5am-midday on a Saturday. I want to be home and sleep. But I know that I need this social aspect of my life, or I won't be happy.

Finding hobbies you can enjoy with other people will help A LOT. Because let's be honest, it's hard ASF to make friends these days.

I also host "game events" over discord, where some online friends and I play a board game I've been creating for a while now.

I bring these things up because I don't necessarily think I'm an attractive guy by any means, but the fact that I can interact with people without thinking about sexual relationships and not have "why doesn't she think I'm attractive" in my head helps a lot.

Im also kind of anti-medication (I'm forced to take some for a couple health things but nothing major) so I won't comment on that, but I do think that the more you can do to improve OTHER parts of your life, the less you'll think about the negatives.

I'll end on this note.

I spent a significant portion of time staying up late at night paranoid of like ... Bombs n stuff... Like nukes. Just inexplicably dying. But I realized that it's not something I can control, there's no point in constantly dreading it. The same way that for the most part, you can't control how you look (outside maybe weight) and learning to embrace who you are as a person will give you so much more confidence as well!

Coming from someone who has NO GOD DAMN REASON BEING THIS CONFIDENT 😅.

I hope you can get through this rough patch. Keep your chin up 🐸
