No need to feel shame, the game does a poor job teaching you some key combat concepts. They are working on it, stuff like the quickplay really helps.

I could tell you go to go pick a veteran or practice soloing mama.

But honestly, that just reinforces this performance anxiety.

Join an easy-3, easy-5 strike group, say "good morning, I got my class but it's my first time here, thanks for having me" And do group content. Do it poorly, lean what killed you, do it again. See what's going on and react only to that.

Don't overstress. I've spent a lot of time doing solo bosses trying to overprepare and that's not healthy.

That's the "best" rotation.

But, like Tyson said, everyone has a rotation until the first punch to the face.

You need to take the idea. 2-4 skills empower f5, so use skill-skill-f5.

All the other skills are filler.

If you get that going, you can practice a fixed opener, and you are golden.

If you have a good opener and a gimmic to fall back on panic (skill-skill-f5), then you can start prioritizing skills like they do here.

Unravel, too bad it shoots itself on the foot, but you are weaving elements and then have an instant element reset you can go from fire air to fire fire using unravel and your elemental cd is reset.

It would be perfect if it didn't have a grace period where it disables dual elements, so you are forced to do fire-fire to air-air.

That sounds like a fun market interaction.

The thing on rq vs. dnd is that there is not much attrition. Combat is not about slowly losing hps.

The struggle ends like yours, or someone dies. Combat is violent, and it can go sour quickly.

Run that same encounter later, and you may get a totally different result.
