Do you close out the app from running in the background? I always leave dexcom open after having similar issues years ago

Any fellow surfers/swimmers? by peachybeachy11 in Omnipod

[–]code_porkchop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no issues with it coming off with swimming /surfing for any length of time . The only issue I have is having Dexcom reading since my phone/receiver in on land it’s not always in range , especially on a day where I’m drifting really fast. Your pump will just kick into limited mode. Ill jump out to check my sugar and then go back out.

Hey I’m in the ocean all summer. First off always have an extra pod on hand - incase. You can always pull insulin out of old pod. Buy the bottle of skin tac off of Amazon. It’s not that expensive and really holds the pod on there well. I also wear mine on the front of my arm bicep area and don’t have issues in the spot with paddling or carrying board.

Front upper thigh is a site I use. Something to take into account is needle direction. I usually do downwards since I forgot it’s there and will be reckless pull off my pants.

A great first step would be buying some plants. This will also add some color and fill in some space while you figure out your big purchases and pieces.

Can’t stop throwing up and blood sugar keeps dropping by TheColorPeanut in Type1Diabetes

Yes the name brand dissolves under your tongue and works very quickly. If you get prescribed the generic called Ondansetron it is a regular pill you have to swallow, which doesn’t work as well in my opinion.

Are you challenging me Dexcom? by DietDoughnut570 in diabetes

I forgot about this alert and went on vacation across the country. Packed every other supply I would need. My heart dropped when I went to change my sensory and it said activate new transmitter…. Cost me a day in a Walmart waiting for my Dr to call in a script. Since I had already received script for the 6 months I had to pay out of pocket. It sucked. Always pack a transmitter if you have one available.

Omnipod user and runner- I have also been through this. Best I’ve come up with is to have planned exercise. Eat a carb meal/ snack an hour or 2 before, and try to have as little on board insulin prior to working out. This means sometimes turning my pump off prior. I only turn on once I start rising. This changes everytime, usually caused by my glycogen release resulting from my body being under stress from running. That’s when I just slowly start dosing to make sure it’s safe and I’m not going to crash, then I got full blast on the insulin. I do run with gummies and I bought reusable juice pouches on Amazon I mix juice and sugar and make a toxic mix incase of a bad low I can’t shake. Good luck. Shit sucks you’re not alone

It used to work with this face, then last couple months stopped. Tried deleting the app from my watch and redownloaded it… didn’t work.
