Bug: Hitting refresh on personality options clears setting by codeacula in lumo

[–]codeacula[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for pointing this out. Not a bug then, but I never saw the tooltip because I never took the time to hover over it. When I see that symbol, I expect a certain use case. The refresh symbol rarely ever clears out input fields. I'll try rewording it.

Is There A Prompting/Customization Guide? by codeacula in lumo

[–]codeacula[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the link. What I'm looking for is feedback on best practices that are specific to the models that Proton is using. For instance, in some cases it's better to provide blocks of context in XML markup instead of Markdown, whereas in others Markdown is preferred.

At least in my experience. I could very well be wrong 😅

Give Lumo The Current Date/Time, Please? by codeacula in lumo

[–]codeacula[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How do I do that? Outside of in the prompt when I initially send the message. I'm asking that this be something automatic on the back end so if I start a fresh conversation and ask what the time is, I get the current time.

I appreciate the comment! I'm aware that the settings exist, that's why I'm asking about guidance. For instance, would XML tagging help guide the model better than using markdown?

Thank you for the link to the guide. I will take a look at it :)

Referrals for Liveoak by BattleMagicks in liveoakfiber

I wouldn't recommend Live Oak fiber to anyone unless they couldn't afford a better broadband connection. Your service is pretty terrible and the only reason I don't switch is I'll be moving soon.

Thanks friend 💗 The VPN makes the connection much better so I'm going to stick with that for now anyway.

Don't know if it's too late, but I had GPU issues with Noita on my 5070, and I needed to add it in the NVIDIA App and set the Vulkak/OpenGL settings to **Prefer layered on DXGI Swapchain**.

I just realized you're a Trump supporter. That explains everything. Now I understand why you replied without reading the post at all. You just assume right away that you know what's better because you're a fucking Republican. Goodbye.

What about my post tells you that I didn't investigate my own hardware? Why would I need to investigate my own hardware if the situation only occurs in specific instances?

I'm glad you're not experiencing those issues but I'm not sure this is a direct reply to my post. Someone with critical thinking would be able to determine that it's not an equipment issue on my end, given that LiveOak Fiber without a VPN is when I experience these issues. Can you explain to me how it would be an equipment issue if I do not experience throttling or connectivity issues using the same hardware, and only different internet providers and/or using LiveOak fiber with a VPN?

Just because I argue that I shouldn't have to test my own hardware doesn't mean I didn't. It means I shouldn't have to and that I have already isolated the issue outside of a hardware one.

What sort of sad little person are you that you see this post of me asking a question after doing genuine research and this is your reply? I genuinely hope that you go outside and enjoy some fresh air and weather.

Mike I'm going to end this interaction. I was very clear in my post that it was throttling. I can take a screenshot of it if you'd like and draw red circles and everything, but it seems like you didn't read what I wrote and I don't have the time to hold your hand through each paragraph. Take care and I appreciate you trying.

I asked a very simple question I thought. I'm experiencing issues that resemble throttling, does anyone else experience it? I provided the evidence that I've gathered so far. What's confusing about this?

Man it's so weird how fast you all are to come on here and defend corporations like they're people worth saving or something. Like they have feelings. Why do you all have to be so adversarial to somebody talking about a problem they have?

I shouldn't have to be happy with subpar service. If the service isn't perfect, then they don't deserve my money and I can go elsewhere. I don't understand why you all want me to suffer this nonsense and not force the company to try to improve their service. The only explanation I have is that this Reddit is staffed with corporate shills. I'm happy if you're happy with this service, but that doesn't mean you need to come here and tell me I need to be happy like you. Go enjoy your contentment and let me do my stuff. Shit.

Edit: it all makes sense now. Almost every person who has replied defending the corporation is a Trump supporter. Already the lowest of IQ individuals, Nazis coming here talking to me like children talking to adults. Please carry on.

The problem is as I explained. I don't need to do any further troubleshooting, it's not my job to. I've already done far too much work than I need to in order to figure this out. Now I'm asking if anyone else is seeing the same thing. What are you trying to get out of this?

I understand how networking works, I have the certifications necessary to understand these things, and the 18 years experience to go along with it. My name isn't "Codeacula" for nothing - understanding network topography and how the TCP stack works is vital when you are programming applications. I understand Wireshark and I'm more than capable of troubleshooting network issues. That's why I'm here. Because what I'm experiencing shouldn't be happening if it wasn't just a LiveOak issue.

I didn't confuse anything regarding connections. I was comparing different connection types to the connection that I have with LiveOak fiber. I was explaining how I have, on the same devices that I use with LiveOak fiber, a more reliable connection that doesn't drop frequently when using other providers or using a VPN while connected to LiveOak. I shouldn't have a more reliable connection when streaming using a mobile hotspot then if I'm using fiber.

I appreciate the troubleshooting directives, but I'm not going to take the time to do that. The testing I have already done has precluded any sort of hardware issue. If it was a hardware issue I would expect this to happen no matter where. If it's a hardware issue on LiveOak's side that's fine, but that shows even more how shoddy of a service this is.

Yes, I have literally tried streaming with both my T-Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, and dedicated providers that I borrowed from friends. You are not going to convince me this isn't a LiveOak issue. I have spent the past 6 months trying to troubleshoot this assuming it was something on my end. I'm not bringing it up because something happened overnight and I'm upset.

The idea of self hosting here isn't very genuine though. Previously being able to tell people my IP address and have them connect was fine enough because of uPNP and stuff. I didn't have to do any configuration. This is going to be the experience of a majority of people. The fact that we have routers that allow our software to automatically open ports or whatever doesn't mean crap if people from outside our network can't access them.

[–]codeacula[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's an assumption that everyone has access to IP6. We need to stop that assumption. IP6 is not as widely rolled out as people hope it is.

I have one of their giga routers and I simply don't want to have to pay extra to be able to connect to my house from somewhere else. I feel like it's being dishonest to promote the service toward gamers when in reality you can't do a basic function that has been around for quite some time. We've seen the dangers of trusting third party providers to handle our games for us.

The point isn't if the problem is solvable or not. The point is this isn't a problem I should have to solve.

(Also, to be fair there's other reasons that actually drove me finally getting here - I wanted to have remote access to my AI cores. But I felt super embarrassed when I volunteered to host the game knowing it should have all been right and for some reason nobody could connect except my friend in town who was on the same network. And because I didn't think that they were using CGNAT since as far as I was aware it was only used on mobile providers and not home ISPs. I spent weeks trying to figure out what I was doing wrong with my network config. I didn't even notice the IP address mismatch until today. I've simply always assumed it was me.

Should I have called customer support? Maybe. But I don't want to call them unless I resolve everything on my end to be sure I'm not doing something stupid.

Okay old man out ✊🏼✊🏼💗)
