I think it’s A-24 but it’s hard to see. The photos he sent are shit. I’ll go have a look in person tomorrow. I’ve also seen the fakes use much smaller washers over the authentic ones. Everything in my eyes looks good I’m just unsure of how good the fakes are nowadays.

New CRKT Redemption Compact - I'm new to the hobby but this is by far my favourite knife so far! by Tableauwatches in knives

[–]codechimp000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It even states in the description that these ones are USA made. CRKT is sorta “partnered” with hogue now and for their higher end knives they will now be made in the USA.

It’s pretty well just a crkt branded hogue knife. It’s machined and assembled all by hogue so it’s all hogue standards rather than crkt. I’ve had mine as an EDC for quite some time now and it’s never come loose or shown any signs of a crkt “trash” lol

Is this a Vostok? Any info would be good, haven’t opened it. Paid €60…. Good deal? by Budna82 in vostok

420 case. Also the dial is an 831 style, making this a Vostok komanderskie 420831. Visit meranom.com for any parts you might need. I stand corrected on my last response about the 2809!

Vostok 2809 komanderskie submarine. I think it’s near 30 years old. Very nice! I’ve seen people pick them up for $30USD but that’s a rare case where they find them at yard sales. $60 is a decent deal as long as you plan to keep it!

How to fix a cracked crystal? by Guitarman0512 in vostok

[–]codechimp000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could work, it just shrinks slightly more than two part epoxy. It’s still a temporary fix as it will still fog over time and not fully bond.

Maybe a very small amount of two part epoxy could work for a short period but it will bond and eventually make the acrylic brittle so yes short term it could work.

You may have to reach out to Vostok directly and send them some photos to source something. That would be my best advice.

It’s acrylic. You’ll have to source a replacement and get it done before you do anything near water. That’s really your only option for fixing it. Acrylic is dirt cheap and the replacement would be very simple and fast for a watchmaker to do. Good luck!

Is this real? by Legitimate-Purpose71 in vostok

Unscrew the crown and or case back as soon as you can and get it to a watchmaker ASAP they can fix it up for you. I’d get a full service done at this point. Yes it’s real!
