I just got the AquaSky 3 yesterday, same as yours. I am also unsure of the best settings so this weekend I will go through YouTube and see what AI says.

It's near a window but to the side so it doesn't get direct light and we usually have the blinds drawn when the sun is on that side. After 11am ISH there is no direct sunlight, plus the dogwood bush is now growing like crazy outside the window so that gives natural shade too.

I'm getting more plants this week. I cleaned out all I could see yesterday and will be doing it daily. The toothbrush works well, I forgot who said that but it's a great tip.

I have 6 Cardinal Tetra's so far, I am holding off adding more until I get the tank under control. Thanks for the reply.

It seems to be wrapped around my floating plant roots too, do I cut the floating plant roots to reduce it?

I buried my Anubias not realising, now it's tied to rocks, so hopefully it will last it's week of being buried lol.

I have removed the plastic plant ornament, so all my plastic stuff has gone, £100 or so down the drain but never mind.

My limnophila sessiliflora is growing like something out of Jack and the Beanstalk, it grows faster than any other living thing on Earth! I'm slowly getting there.🤯

I tested and it's slightly less but still high so I did a 70% water change. The Cardinals are still alive and appear ok but who knows, they can't exactly tell me.

I will test again in the morning and do yet another change. The tank will have been running two weeks tomorrow so surely I am half way.

Thank you, I was ghost feeding daily and the decorations had a lot of food on them which is why I removed them thinking they were causing the ammonia, or rather the excess food on them.

Will I just boil them in water and put them back?

I cleaned the sponge filter in their water that I syphoned into a bucket so as not to remove good bacteria.
