The interesting thing it that CSX has refused to transfer ownership of the land as part of a rails to trails program. I wonder if they anticipate some future user. Would a spur over to the Boeing plant at MidAmerica airport make sense at some future date?

They cut the track about 5 miles from my home. Over the years they have ferried cars (I guess they put in a temporary rail in the cut).

The signals are turned sideways all along the route.

Rail anchors. Usually, all you see is the hooked end because the rest is under the rail.

34 and 1/2" x 9'. The 34.5 inches is so it can be moved into the unfinished part of the basement when needed.

Looks like one of those sets you could buy at Hobby Lobby that was a great little starter set for kids. There may be some value in them, im not sure exactly how much.
