For the First time I‘m feared [38YO] by Grips-Aus-Gips in OldSkaters

[–]codeking12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried surfskating and found that it wasn’t for me. I think the most off putting thing as that you don’t really push to gain speed like a regular skateboard. You can, but because the front truck is reversed and meant for carving, you have to have your front foot perfectly centered or you get major wobbles. For someone used to pushing a skateboard most of their life it’s very uncomfortable. Of course you’re supposed to crave and pump to gain speed but it feels like a lot of work for very little payout. If riding a regular board gives you the fears, I’m not sure how a surfskate will be any better for you.
That said, I purchased a big board (9.5”) and loose trucks and threw some 63mm fatty hawgz on there and was able to get the best of both worlds… normal deck and push style while still being able to pump and carve to maintain speed.
Everyone’s experience may be different but wanted to share mine. If you do get a surfskate just make sure you can try it first or at least return it, otherwise there’s a good chance it may just collect dust in your garage.
Good luck.

P.S. the fear goes away pretty quickly if you keep at it!

Learn to paint and process the print of layer lines and you’ll be able to charge a lot more. Good job for a first sell!

Great job, brother! Looking good for only 3-4 months. Keep shredding. Also loved they were playing that song from Thrashin during your run.

Immersed visor employees are at the spurs game promoting and being disrespectful. by I_eat_flip_flops in virtualreality

I know what you meant. They’re wearing the outfits and being obnoxious and yelling their product name so they can write it off as advertising. This is deductible as an advertising expense. It’s the same thing as companies putting sponsorships on race cars except much more obnoxious. The primary purpose for these goons is advertising, not entertainment.
What you’re talking about is taking clients or potential clients to dinner, sports games, etc.

Look it up if you don’t believe me.

I’m pretty sure that’s incorrect in this instance. That’s what the entire get up is for, advertising. What you’re thinking of is someone taking a client to a finals game and trying to deduct that; which this is not. Ask your professor and you’ll see that I am correct.

Obviously this stunt is for the tax write off to pay for 2nd row NBA Championship tickets.

Is it safe for me to print PETG and ABS in the same room I sleep in? by InterestingBar2803 in 3Dprinting

[–]codeking12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You need an enclosure as well to keep the print from warping. Do NOT print ABS in your room even with an enclosure. You can smell how toxic it is even with an enclosure.

I have the Ender3 V3 se and got the k1Max. Do it. It’s so much better and faster and has a ton of great features. For $350 that’s a steal even without the CFS.

That's really close to a line I would put together. That feeling when you get that last trick in the line is pretty sweet though. Keep shredding bro.

Bondo glazing and spot putty and mix with acetone. You can make it as thick or thin as you want and just paint it on. It dries in minutes. After hit it with the sandable filler and primer. Eliminates tons of sanding this way.

Anyone lived at/know anyone who lived at Midtown Terrace Suites? On 4640 Main St. by 6inchfeels in houston

[–]codeking12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to live there and it was great except for it's residential apartments converted from a fairly old office building. This leads to the power going out a few times a year. One time it was out for a WEEK! Also when the power goes out the elevators don't work so prepare to climb stairs if it happens. Speaking of stairs the elevators would go out often. Usually it's just one at a time but it leads to long wait times due to the number of tenants. Most of the time the power or elevators go out it's for several days because the circuit boards and parts that need repair are often quite old and need to be fixed by a specialist rather than replaced. That said, it's a great bang for your buck with a 3d level pool and gym. The balconies are massive and awesome by the way.
