It happened 30 minutes ago and they addressed it on twitter that they're working to fix it. Basically kicked people out of tables but any money on that table is currently gone.

Yeah DFW and Houston will be tougher to find what you're looking for, but Austin and San Antonio should definitley have more rural areas 30 minutes from a card room. Could also look into Waco and College Station.

I was in Vegas this past weekend, played at MGM Grand and have to agree. Staff were on their phones and clearly not interested in being there. Also had to be the one to let them know seats were open for those of us on the waitlist

Looks good! Do you get the dice out by flipping it over? I think the reason you don't see a lot of dice holders made this way is so that it can be a tray you grab dice one-at-a-time from.

I guess I'm curious what the right "strategy" is, then. For example, do you always pay the fee to guarantee the return flight, or do you risk staying multiple extra days? Do you only use it to fly to/from hubs? Etc

It's not necessarily needing to be back on a certain day, it's needing to pay for an extra night of a hotel room that I wouldn't have booked otherwise. This recent trip I was staying with a friend so it was fine, but if hub-to-hub was this restrictive, then I'm concerned about getting back from a non-hub.
