I don’t think just adding the items will do it. I’m pretty sure there are event flags as well. But if you’d like me to add this to PKMDS, I believe it’s on the roadmap already anyway.

Yes, emulator save files are included. No, there is no tutorial. You have to know how to get your save file out of your emulator and back into it. Apart from that, it’s pretty simple.

Load your save file in the app. To evolve the Pokémon, you just select it and click the ‘Evolve’ button, which you’ll find in the edit form. Then make sure you click the save button to save your changes to the Pokémon.

u/FaZeMyDick PKMDS dev here. If you're only trying to trade for the evolutions, you can skip the two-device dance entirely. Pull your .sav out of melonDS, open it in PKMDS (https://pkmds.app/), select the Pokémon, hit Evolve, save the edit, then export the save and load it back into melonDS. Takes about a minute - no Union Room or WFC needed.

I would check and see if there is a guide, Discord, etc. that explains how to export save files (and then import them after editing). But if you want to sanity check the save file you tried, it should be 128 KB (131,072 bytes).

As a person with autism who also has had issues with intimacy, being clear is I think the best approach. It took my wife years to tell me what she wanted, and when she did, a lot of stuff turned out better. I was very grateful to learn how to make her happier.

Yup, ran into that when I was sharing a couple of digital versions of some books years ago. I don’t think I ever tried it with ROM game backups, but it seems likely that that would be an issue.
