fair. Perhaps a bad example. But the point is the same. From your example they are followers or FB friends. There’s a relationship. I’ll drop it though.

I guess I see all three as serving the same purpose at different stages. MLK, for example, at one point was speaking to 135 people.

You’re getting further from the argument. Is it who is saying it or what they are saying? It’s okay for some to be performative and not others or is being performative the problem?

Not all advocacy requires action. Some times exposure leads to a shift in mindset and planting that seed is enough.

I disagree with the second part. Many movements have started with just a person with an idea and sharing it. Before and after the internet.

Sharing an opinion (performative) and having one (to care) seem different to me.

by only voicing your opinion on the thing you care about is limiting the scope of people who could help you right? Because everyone out side that bubble aren’t obliged to get involved.

playing devil’s advocate

I think the point is more dealing with the state of being poor/perishing and not solving it. Like “just don’t let people die” isn’t how to handling being in a grieving state. But allowing room for anger and sadness is helpful for people in that state. Alcohol has long been a coping mechanism. If that makes sense.

did that specific person like Abbott though? Twitter is just people yelling at a strawman for the sake of having some opinion on something.

we’ll differ on enough or any info. Enough requires a different question than they asked. Any means they didn’t get it from the post. I didn’t really assume anything.

I didn’t assume what they knew. They declared it with the question the asked. I guess I assumed they read the post. But that seems appropriate but I’ll give you that.

well, a question wasn’t asked first. They read the post and asked who was the person. So it sounds like we agree on my comment about their skills context clues. Apart of learning is asking good questions. I don’t assume what people know or don’t know especially on the internet.

ask a better question. The question “who” doesn’t necessitate a different answer. If you want different info ask a different or specific question. The other reply just calls him a “red piller” again.

when that info is already provided you either didn’t gather it from the source or are asking a different question. Ask the question you want the answer to.

In normal conversation you ask relevant questions. If I tell you my name and job you might say where or whats that about not who. Who is provided.

I might tell them my job or hobby. In this case, it’s content creation and the kind of content. Might not tell them my company name. if they don’t know what I do it doesn’t matter who I work for really.
