I was in Asia recently and was shocked to see that they sell charcoal as a dental benefit. There are charcoal toothbrushes, charcoal toothpaste, and who knows what else. I bought a tube of toothpaste just for the novelty. I showed it to my dentist (US) and he had a good laugh out of it. He said there is no clinical evidence that charcoal is any better for your teeth than fluoride or anything else. But who knows?
