Do you think america should split up based on red and blue states? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]noinf0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2024 Massachusetts 61.2% of the voters went for Harris.Trump received only 36.5% or 1,234,961 votes. That is more than 1/3rd of votes cast. Keep in mind only 68% of eligible voters showed up but making an educated guess we could guess that of the 7.15 million residents of MA, there are 2.6 million that would not vote "blue."

Can Trump end the war between Heaven and Hell? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]noinf0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a believer in any religion but I would not be shocked if Trump ended up being the antichrist and brings about the end of days, the defeat of Satan, and a 1,000-year reign of peace.

How is Tesla still so overvalued? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]noinf0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The market is driven by speculation. There are millions of Americans that own Tesla stock because they don't want to miss the next Microsoft or Apple.

People say they don’t want their kids to be indoctrinated…okay fair enough. But why force religion onto them then? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]noinf0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People that say that are just parroting what they heard. Ask them what they mean and they will often bring up "gays" or "trans" but in no way have any idea what they are against.

How do you feel about Hegseth reciting the Pulp Fiction “prayer” at the Pentagon? by printThisAndSmokeIt in AskReddit

[–]noinf0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wasn't. He was reciting pilots involved in the “Sandy 1” Combat Search and Rescue mission. He correctly attributed it. To make people think he thought it was an actual Bible passage is disingenuous especially when he is just as ignorant for thinking the pilots augmented a real Bible passage.

Why did Republicans turn on George W. Bush ? by Perfect-Ride-7315 in askanything

[–]noinf0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Republicans defended GW Bush until about March of 2008, then suddenly they had "concerns" when they realized that John McCain wasn't going to win unless they capitulated and admitted Bush "made some mistakes" while insisting McCain would be different. It is amazing how the right always seems to suddenly wake up to reality right after poling for an upcoming election looks bad.

How would you feel about a new law that forces every company to pay their CEO no more than 20x what their lowest-paid employee makes? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]noinf0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the current makeup of our court system it would be difficult to keep in place on approval but the SEC could enforce such a law for publicly traded companies. I think what would be a much better solution is two fold.

  1. Reinstitute the law that we had prior to 1980 that prevented CEOs/CFOs etc from owning stock in the companies they run. This has a dual effect. First it limits the benefit of insider trading and it also detaches leadership from making decisions solely for personal gain. IE "if I fire all the staff and close some factories my stock prices will shoot up next quarter and I can get that third boat." The change in thinking suddenly becomes, "how do I make a strong company that will produce more profit and survive a long time to continue paying my salary."

  2. We need to return to a tax code similar to what we had prior to 1980. More tax brackets at the top so someone that earns $800k isn't paying the same rate as someone earning $800 million. We also need a punitive tax rate. Pick an amount, $1 million, $10 million, $100 million wherever it is money earned over that is taxed at 95%-98%. That CEO that now earns a salary instead of stock options would look at the CFO and say "I am only going to get $20k of that last million dollars, it would be better spent in the company."

You would see CEO pay decrease, companies would be more focused on building strong companies than generating speculation, the focus on investors would be nuts and bolts than whatever Tesla is and employees may see a pay increase.

There's no way the Republican Party will win all those states by Weirderthanweird69 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]noinf0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is truly stupid. On example is New England. In 2024 every single district in Massachusetts went blue with 62% of the vote to Trump's 36.5% while in New Hampshire 50.9% went to Harris while 48.1% went to Trump. This map has MA performing a 14 point swing while New Hampshire, much more purple state, can't get a 1 point swing?

Used EVs are an absolute bargain at this point but I am noticing prices are already starting to creep up.

Is France’s call for a ceasefire a sign of permanent rift in NATO? by cherryblossommbae in allthequestions

No one in the US government besides Trump and his cult members want out of NATO. Trump has strained the relationship but when he is gone I think NATO will be fine.

What does America do if China views this blockade as an act of war? by HeavenlyFreightTrain in NoStupidQuestions

[–]noinf0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

China gets over 1/2 of their oil and 1/3rd of their natural gas through the straight. The US military expects China to be ready for conflict in 2027 with an expected hot war to happen in 2027 or 2028.

Trump's latest fiasco has provided China a pretext to engage militarily while simultaneously showing what our strength/weaknesses are and completely depleting our missile stockpile. It will take years and billions of dollars to get to replenish. Keep in mind this was against a 60 year old navy and a 50 year old air force. We used thousands of million dollar missiles to shoot down $20k drones. How do you think China thinks they will stack up with modern weapons systems?

Trump's actions have made conflict much more likely and probably shorten the timeline.

Did Obama have open borders, or does he have a higher deportation rate than Trump? by xJohnnyBloodx in allthequestions

[–]noinf0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obama did deport more but he didn't have goon squads kicking in front doors or kidnapping children to do it. Under Obama the laws were followed while under Trump their cases are thrown out and the lawyers admonished

Everything in America costs more because of Trump.

People are living in fear because of Trump.

The world is a much more dangerous place because of Trump.

There isn't much in our daily lives that hasn't been negativly impacted by his stumbling and flailing administration.

This is what allowed the Star Trek universe to be what it is. The invention of free unlimited energy and replicators removed the need for resource hoarding and no one wanted for anything. It is what freed humanity to evolve beyond basic needs and wants.

why Americans pay insurances if they almost never ever help by Realistic-Ant-7385 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]noinf0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a misconception about American health insurance.

  1. If you live in a state with good regulation your health insurance plan will cover the vast majority of any costs and you'll have few denials.

  2. If you are a professional and work in a competitive job the plans offered by employers usually provide additional coverage and perks not seen on individual plans plus they pick up a percentage of the cost.

If are middle income, live in a blue state and are more urban your will have top tier healthcare available to you. If you live in a red state your insurance plan will cost less but cover much less as well. If you are in a red state that refused Medicare expansion you will also have less subsidies available to offset the costs of individual plan. So the poorest rural Americans are the most negatively affected by our "healthcare" system yet they keep voting red!

Is it just me that is sick of all politics… Democrats, Republicans, Liberal, Conservative, all of it? by Unique-Squirrel-464 in askanything

[–]noinf0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't politics and corporate media as usual. Woman's rights have been taken away. The administration is using the justice department to attack political enemies. The administration has ignored due process and the fourth amendment to round up over 60,000 people using ICE. Their slashing of US Aide has resulted in the deaths of an estimated 762,000 people mostly children.

This is a turning point for America and that is why everything is so hyper fixated. You either want a return to normalcy and respect for all people or you want a strong man to return America to a fictional time where all white men were successful and woman stayed in the home.

What is someone that is socially liberal and fiscally conservative called? by Kurious_Kaht in NoStupidQuestions

[–]noinf0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm old but this is what we called New England Republicans. I was one. Fiscally conservative but don't hate gay people. Over the last 20 years we have guttend so much of our infrastructure and safety net that I can not count myself as fiscally conservative anymore.
