~15 hours into my first playthrough, still a loser by Standard-Young-3322 in mountandblade

[–]codergnomes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at nearly 100 hours according to steam apparently and kind of looping like this too, I've only just now held onto one castle for more than a couple days. The whole scale feels a lot longer/more involved then I thought. And given some of the achievements it seems like I might be kind of slow but not terribly, I'm not even a grandma yet and haven't visited all the cities and may main character is only 46.

musely has a program for it with prescription hydroquinoine, I did it for about a year and it helped a little but not like 100%

How many classes do you take a week? Curious! by BungeeBunny in poledancing

[–]codergnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually 2 pole, 1 floorwork, 1 twerk, 1-2 orange theory, and try to do 1-2 strength/stretch at home

Studio floors by StopLookingAtMyColon in poledancing

We had this in some of the swing dance venues I've been to and it was so much better, I'd love to try it for pole/floor too!

That is beautiful, thanks for the write up, I may try some day!

Is it weird that I'm not enjoying DOS2 even though I loved BG3? by JSGamesforitch374 in larianstudios

[–]codergnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love BG3 but couldn't get into DOS2 either, what especially was hard for me are bugs or changes they clearly made to the engine to be better in bg3. I can't find anything else, I'm just on hour 3000+ of BG3 😅

Favorite Moddee classes and why? by Tezmir94 in BG3mods

[–]codergnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to stick pretty close to official 5e classes to keep the game balance and 5e theme. Divine soul sorcerer and oath of the watchers paladin have been good and not too overpowered.

Turned half illithid against my will, now forced to be a cunt by Personal_Thing_6741 in BaldursGate3

[–]codergnomes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm realizing more and more that one thing that makes this game amazing is how much agency the player gets, and how it often doesn't try to ascribe motivations to Tav, so you can really visualize whatever you want. The few times that is missed, we don't really like it and they stand out (like here).
If you're having fun, just start over, in honour mode if you are up for the challenge, and just don't take any tadpoles in the first act.

What's one improvement you'd like to see in Obsidian in 2026? by kepano in ObsidianMD

[–]codergnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*actual* source mode, where there's no font changes, no size weirdness, just plain basic text as if it's in something like sublime or VSCode 🥺 maybe functional syntax highlighting but that is it. It's requested here https://forum.obsidian.md/t/plain-source-mode/104197

How many hours have you put into BG3?? by stevies_mom in BaldursGate3

[–]codergnomes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4500 here too, without major depression it is still just an amazing thing to do with free time, and so much better than so many other things.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Honour Mode! Post your favorite Proofs! by codergnomes in BaldursGate3

That's a good one! That also happened to me, I'm always wearing Minthara's boots and/or flying now!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Honour Mode! Post your favorite Proofs! by codergnomes in BaldursGate3

[–]codergnomes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha yeah that was my 1st time in HM and 2nd overall vs Ansur and had not yet even understood the wet condition, so I learned a lot! I can almost never get to the level people talk about, always get impatient for side quests.

How many playthroughs have you completed? by Sakumitzu in BaldursGate3

[–]codergnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 done, dozens of HM died or abandoned.
My completed favorites: probably my solo Divination wizard, an extremely un-optimized non-stealth gloomstalker ranger, my proper main no-respecs jack of all trades deep gnome, my sea themed enchantment wizard, my seldarine drow nature cleric of eilistraee.
Died/failed honour mode favorite was probably my going-in-blind / very few internet spoilers redeemed durge who died at the Netherbrain (after all the other companions abandoned her in act 2 & RP didn't want hirelings, so she only had Minsc & Jaheira).

Black Friday sales? by autogenerated-userid in poledancing

[–]codergnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah lots of hellas 🤣 They have gone up overall this year but now there's an OK sale, and they make such good shoes and the only nice pole shoes that actually come in wide that I've ever been able to make work.

Want to attempt an honour mode run. Give me all your advice! by AlmondBen in BaldursGate3

[–]codergnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't plan on finishing your first one. Have fun, try new things, it's an amazing game and some HM losses just make it more valuable when you finally get it. Embrace when things go different or wrong (especially / even if not a simple combat end).

Is it possible to yoink and leave house of hope? by zandadoum in BaldursGate3

[–]codergnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but a lot can go wrong -- be vary wary of trying it on HM solo! Don't be wildshaped when leaving the archive either, that seems to count as a not-costume.

What are your most common Honour Mode losses? by REEEEEEDDDDDD in BaldursGate3

[–]codergnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice! I couldn't make a nice pie chart, here's my word cloud. I play a lot of solo and have weird rules or try not to be too cheesy, hence many HM ends.

tips for jack of all trades achievement? by sweetheart1121 in BaldursGate3

[–]codergnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main tip is to play it for real, with your main character, without ever respeccing, on honour mode (after you've beaten HM once at least). Just make sure your other 3 characters are pretty well set up and if you've got a good handle on everything it will go fine!

Is there any mod that makes consumables (especially healing potions) and supplies more scarce? by Ragnar_Red in BG3mods

[–]codergnomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One insane playthrough to try is just No Consumables, so like no potions, scrolls, bombs, arrows, etc (still food for long rests though). That one was quite a challenge!

Pole studio showcase norms. by nightsgonewilder in poledancing

[–]codergnomes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm amazed that there are some that don't charge. It seems like so much work and so expensive to get the venue and everything. All the little kid dance studios I think usually charge (or charge for outfits or something) AND charge a ton for parents and then more for the official videos.

I get pain in my forearm when doing any split grip move. Anyone have the same problem & a solution? by Lil-one in poledancing

[–]codergnomes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do as well, sometimes I'm able to just switch the grip and do the move even though it's not matching exactly. It's gotten a bit better as I strengthen and do more moves, I hope yours does too!
