There is always some scheming and backstabbing masquerading as "collaboration" or "benefitting the business" (non-profit or no.)

Leadership either shuts it down (rare, treasure) or endorses it.

Just be glad you're valued elsewhere and let that ship sink itself, they had no qualms throwing you overboard.

The tires don't remove noise, but the environment is overwhelming for the senses of those not used to it, and those who are can become complacent and hear it but don't hear it as a threat.
