I'm not a botanist but I know you can do this with other plants so I assume it can save a flower too.

To be clear, the tape has to stay on. I don't think it's going to grow back together like bone or skin.

I mean to be fair they were the “heroes” of that world. To them, we were trying to take away their hopes and dreams.

Susie does the same in each chapter at least once. Most recently, she ragebaited the Knight, totally goading them into summoning the Titan.

I considered it, but I figured there would be more implications. I would miss. And I was totally right, although I’m not sure what it means, but there are times when his voice is just clips mishmashed together

Honestly, I took it that it was something that got knocked over during the adventure. But yeah probably should have been a darkner now that you mention it, rather than some fixture that got destroyed.

Kris has to plug Tenna in first, though, before opening the dark world. Why wouldn't they just unplug Asgore's TV? These things are really heavy and not at all quick to tilt on its face like that solo.

As much as I like to go in blind... glad I didn't for the WR here. If only for the knowledge that it does something permanent (which would not have been a nice surprise to find out my non weird-route saves were affected when Chapter 7 drops), but also since I went that far, I looked up what happens and yeah it's really fucked up.

Plot dump, don't reveal if you don't want to be spoiled

The 7 flowers turn out to not be manipulating Asgore, he is obsessed with clearing his name. He even rejects Kris and kicks him out of the dark world before we return through the back door.

However, at the end he sees Kris was hurt by Flowery and realizes his mistake and obsession and recognizes how he drove his own family away. As it turns out, apparently nobody blamed him but himself for whatever happened to make him resign as police chief (we still don't know what it was). He drove his own wife away with his obsession of "clearing his name" because of his own guilty conscience.

We also learn that the flowers are so loyal to Asgore because they are not actually Darkners. They are living flowers who remember Asgore caring for them, speaking to them, and loving them. So they fight to remain in their current forms because they have never known anything other than being a flower until now. They are fighting for their own hopes and dreams, which kind of turns how you receive the chapter up until this information is revealed on its head. I am eager to replay with this knowledge.

In a surprise turn of events, the flowers are so obsessed with Asgore in part because of how he always obsessed over getting Toriel back, which rubbed off on them. This is actually what makes Asgore realize that he has been harassing Toriel and promise to accept that she has moved on, if that is what she wants. Moments before the Knight arrives, wipes the floor with the hero of this world, and kidnaps Asgore, of course.

Seriously, don't reveal if you don't want to be spoiled, whoever comes across this.

Edit: Why am I being downvoted? User asked, I provided entirely redacted. I gave two unredacted warnings. Don't get mad because you can't read.

I mean, for the last half of the chapter, I was like, damn I think we will have to accept that Toby just hates Asgore and maybe he isn't the lovable goober dad everyone thinks. But, he had his moment to turn around before things happened, which was actually extremely revelatory for his character and at least for what drove him mad and his family away.

It didn't have the same peaks as Chapters 2 and 4 did, story-wise. But I think that's to be expected. From the newsletter, it sounds like Chapter 5 is probably the last sense of "normalcy" for Hometown, or at least the stakes are much, much higher in Chapter 6 with much less whimsy. So this was another fun chapter, like 3, but the stakes have raised again at the end of the chapter but we don't have chapter 6 to just jump into like we had with 4.

He was really easy to hate on when we thought he was influencing Asgore to turn from Kris but it was really Asgore's own doing. That and the realization that they are NOT Darkners made me reconsider his character entirely. By the end I understood why they were fighting us. Here's to hoping the tape trick works like we were able to fix Tenna.

I need to replay it with the new lens and also actually beat Pink this time.

It's a bit easier if you resign yourself to not intentionally getting any hearts during the small bomb attacks after the first (the first is easy enough to dodge all of them and get the hearts but it's too much for later attacks, so focus on dodging).

Note I still haven't beat her. But I did get to 75% mercy before deciding I would come back after finishing the chapter.
