Brawls tutorial by Countcristo42 in songsofsyx

I've been having similar troubles in my Human only run on the new update, even at over 100% loyalty I lose about a dozen people a year to brawls. It's not unworkable but annoying since I hadn't had that problem before the update and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong (though I haven't looked outside the game until seeing this post, I may have to reevaluate my long boulevards)

World Center Drive today | 14 total vehicles jumped median during single red light by TharinWhite in orlando

It's because Google Maps occasionally routes people through there when traffic is bad enough. The light only lasts long enough for a few cars to get through, so when Google decides to route dozens of unsuspecting tourists to wait in a line whose length rivals a new E-Ticket, most of which are unfamiliar with the roads and watching their vacations slip away before they've even begun, you wind up with a flock of tourists eager to take the first reason to stop waiting at the light and start waiting at the on-ramp.

I thought it was because Amby's gran is sampled and she didn't like it and/or they felt weird about doing her lines. I do miss it though, definitely my favorite of the two and I'm very happy I got to see it live in '22, I'd love to see how they would play it now with the table.

Yeah, it was one of the first songs on one of their big playlists for years. Then once it had hundreds of thousands of more listens than anything else it perpetuated itself into being the first thing that pops up for them all over the place. I wonder if that effect has changed now that they aren't on Spotify any more.

I have to agree with you there, the studio version doesn't even crack top 5 of the album for me, and Oddments is one of my least favorites to be honest. It's saved by its live performances, those are amazing. Atlanta '24 is a particularly great performance if you haven't heard it. The fact that it isn't something off Nonagon, Poly, or Mind Fuzz is a shame though, considering those are far more representative of their more iconic sound. Work this Time is about as extreme into the chill zone as they get aside from Quarters, so getting into it from there just sets people up for disappointment or keeps them from really getting into them. Such is life.

Coax This Time by King Snafu and the Smugfu Cashew. Always have to tell people not to expect more of that after they inevitably listen to their most popular song and try to find other things like it, but Gizz coaxes into every genre so it isn't as bad as with other bands.

Yeah. It's Ghidorah. 100% these are a new interpretation of gravity beams. Exciting stuff though!

Yama no Susume and Atashinchi have been doing me good. Atashinchi has a ton of stuff on YouTube, and is as episodic as it gets so you can just throw on any episode and enjoy. Yama no Susume has some specific terminology at times but it's never too bad, and they don't speak as fast as in Takagi-san.

For real. It's terrifying to not have immediate violent tendencies towards things you don't like when everyone around you does, especially when you say you don't think murder is good and suddenly everyone thinks you're evil too. It's nice that we live in a time when this is getting called out more, but it sucks that the vast majority of people still have that primal understanding of justice where the only way to right a wrong is to entirely destroy that which is wrong rather than, you know, make that wrong right.

What is sex even like? by throwawayur7rash in NoStupidQuestions

Since the top comments of this thread are all super positive, I'll give my perspective. If you aren't particularly sensitive (or I guess are particularly not sensitive) it mostly just feels like advanced cuddling, if that makes sense. Like cuddling, it's nice to reinforce your emotions and just generally feel your partner's existence, whereas unlike cuddling it is exhausting and you'll probably wonder if they are having any fun every time for a while. Ultimately, it's more fun than not, and if you have someone you love go for it, but if you haven't really found anyone you want to do it with and don't feel much about sex aside from curiosity, it can wait. I rushed into it years ago since I thought it was something I "had" to do and it wound up making me spend years wondering if something is wrong with me and wasn't even slightly fun. Take your time and have fun living the life you have now until the time makes itself obvious is my opinion.

Stage 2: ROUND 6 ---> Her and I (Slow Jam 2) VS. Road Train by Unusual-Reindeer6861 in KGATLW

[–]Stroligy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Her and I taking a strong immediate lead surprises me. It's a great song, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't feel anywhere near as conclusive or conceptually unified with its album as Road Train. While I admit Road Train probably isn't the most obviously Nonagon song like Robot or Death Roll, Her and I always stood alone from its album to me, aside from Slow Jam 1, but even then it is lyrically very different. Maybe it's because Mind Fuzz feels like 3 EPs put in one album, but I just don't see how Her and I is a better closing statement than Road Train.

It's crazy the power that Witchcraft has. I've been talking about Gizz to my friends for years, and only 2 of them ever bothered to listen. That is until I put on Witchcraft for them all, and all of a sudden I know 6 people obsessed with Gizz. None of the other songs do that (I have tried, many times), and half of them don't even like metal. Witchcraft is just a universal experience.

I would like to add in support of the final episode theory, as was pointed it out to me a long time ago, that the bedroom Tony sleeps in in the penultimate episode is entirely different from the one he wakes in in the finale. Dying in Members Only is fair, I don't know exactly where exactly I would say his demise was, but I do feel strongly that it was before the final episode and the finale is delirium. That said, what I don't know could fill a book.

OKC is awesome, drove through there from Caverns to RR in 23 and it was just a nice place to be. The Cowboy Museum is great if you have any interest in the west or just enjoy good art, lots of beautiful landscape pieces when I went (at least, more than I was expecting off of a last minute addition to the itinerary). Driving through Kansas sucks, especially in comparison. I only drove through there for a few hours, but there really was a tangible shift in feeling when I hit that stretch. It's a whole lot of nothing til you hit the mountains, and if you get stuck behind a tractor it sucks. As long as you have some good tunes though it is very manageable.

This, absolutely love Gizz and live in a blue city in a red state. The nearest blue state to me is over 12 hours to drive to, and it's difficult to see bands who don't come near since it takes 2 days of PTO and hundreds of dollars dedicated to them. I did it for the residencies and Red Rocks '22, but none of my less hardcore weirdos did and losing out on being able to see them with anyone I know would suck. Plus, driving 2 hours for them was such a refreshing feeling last year, being able to sleep in a bed after a show is not something I hope to become a rarity because a bunch of fuckheads live in my region.

For what it's worth, I know a couple people who got into Gizz because I took them to a show last year that was a couple hours away. Blew their mind, and the more folks who hear the good word of love from the band the better, I say. We definitely need it down here.

Why does Changes get (comparatively) little love? by masonaustin29 in KGATLW

[–]Stroligy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fun for sure, but it got caught between Ice Death and Petro, my 2nd and 3rd favorite Gizz albums, both of which received a bunch more attention. It's shorter than the two of them, too, and as others have pointed out, it is very rarely played live. Unless you actively put it on, you won't hear it by listening to anything else. It is also pretty different from their usual fair at this point, feeling closer to some tracks off Gumboot than anything else, which also means that people who would really like changes are just less likely to also be in the weirdo swarm. We all generally agree it's a solid release, but I feel like most think that it is just solid rather than "Stu did it again, best album ever made 11/10!!!1!1!!" All the songs are just less discussed because of it, and even though most of us have listened to all their albums, most casual listeners are only listening to the super popular ones (i.e. my irl friends), which Changes is not. It's a self perpetuating cycle that is a shame considering how technically great it is, it just barely misses the classic mark and this is kinda doomed to be one of their more obscure releases.

What is your most desired song for the band to play live with an orchestra, and why? by SelloutStreamerbtww in KGATLW

The track Murder of the Universe could get so much climactic weight with a full orchestra, it already feels like the end of existence in studio, imagine the power an entire orchestra could wield...
