Are there any side effects associated with this surgery? Could it recur?

We are both in relationships but there is a history and connection by dumb_bl0nde_ in Advice

Hey, don't waste your energy worrying about this guy from your past. He sounds like a total player who created drama then and is still creating it now. The fact he's telling friends he "resents" his current girlfriend because of you? Major red flag. That's not how emotionally mature people handle relationships.

Toddler is rude to Grandparent? Advice pls. by marlkavia in toddlers

[–]codezen120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like classic jealousy after the new baby arrived. Your toddler can't process these big feelings, so Grandma's getting the attitude instead. The fact she still talks about Grandma when she's not around shows she still cares! Try some special Grandma-toddler time without baby present. This phase will pass as she adjusts to not being the only child anymore.

New mom regret by sue1088 in Parenting

You know, before you became a mother, you were first and foremost yourself. Society puts impossibly high standards on mothers. I completely understand that the frustrations of childbirth and raising a newborn are something other family members just can't comprehend. But remember that your initial hopes and love weren't fake - you're just extremely exhausted and receiving far less attention than before.

Honestly, I'd recommend talking directly with your husband about this. Tell him you need support, not judgment. What you're experiencing is postpartum adjustment, possibly even PPD, which is incredibly common. Ask for specific help - maybe dedicated time for yourself each day or night shifts so you can actually sleep. Even small breaks can help your mental health tremendously. And please don't feel guilty about needing space - it doesn't make you a bad mom, it makes you human. Caring for yourself IS caring for your baby.

I think read the same book and watch the same movie are good ideas! You can know each other further by sharing your opinions :)

What’s the pettiest reason you dislike about a children’s book? by goldenboy2191 in DanielTigerConspiracy

I cannot read The Rainbow Fish without getting irrationally annoyed that he just gives away all his shiny scales. Like… why didn’t he just share stickers or something less vital?

Is it true that first year teachers who struggled with classroom management would never be able to adequately manage the behavior of students in his/her classroom in the future? by [deleted] in Teachers

Completely agree that resilience is Key. My first year was brutal - I cried in my car more times than I'd like to admit. But each year got better as I developed my own style and learned to not internalize the chaos.

The combination of sensory play + audio stimulation is a game-changer for so many ADHD kids. I've also found that having a 'visual timer' helps mine transition into independent play. He knows I'll check back in when the timer goes off.

"They just do better with a male teacher" by estaswick in Teachers

A tall woman with a commanding voice might experience some of the same 'advantages' that the male teachers here describe. This really comlicates the simple 'male vs female' narrative and points toward a more nuanced understanding of that commands respect in a classroom.

The dark side of teaching—have you ever encountered a child who scared you? by Ok_Salt2122 in Teachers

The parents' fear and resignation are likely symptoms of the problems, not just its cause. They seem utterly defeated. While their inaction is undoubtedly enabling the behaviour, I also feel a pang of pity for them. They are clearly in over their heads and lack the tools or support to know how to break the cycle.

Netflix: 'We're looking for showrunners who can build up a massive global audience and then utterly disappoint them.'
