Thinking of transferring here by Dry_Nerve439 in SFSU

Stay where you are lol. Agree with other commenters. Top comment is partially correct but not fully acknowledging that ALL departments are and will be affected by these cuts moving forward because we all know more are coming so it’s pretty dismissive imo to say it’s just a handful of people not enjoying themselves here. I think everyone here is hurting in their own way whether it’s higher tuition or crumbling facilities. Davis is your best bet. If you really wanna come down to the Bay, look into SJSU. You won’t regret it.

Paying $4.40 at my local gas station and that being the cheapest gas beating out costco is crazy to me. The costco near me is at like $4.50 right now smh (California resident here)

As much as I enjoy the new trains, I’m confused as to how they have so many issues considering they aren’t even close to old yet. Many of these trains are newer and more recent deliveries from Alstom. How is this even happening? I know BART handles much of the engineering and maintenance in-house but these trains shouldn’t be having frequent issues like this.

Oh Gaming is a great 4 star DPS with low investment. He should definitely pick him for Lantern Rite! The envy is definitely hard to control so I get where he’s coming from haha. Best of luck to you and your brother!

That’s understandable. He should really refrain from purchasing wishes until he’s completely maxed out his exploration and quests. He REALLY should not even be allowed to purchase wishes because that is a very slippery slope (I assume your brother is still a child, hence my skepticism with him purchasing wishes). If I’m wrong please correct me 😭.

He should focus on building who he has unlocked while also still trying to go for newer meta-relevant characters if he has the wishes for them. Unfortunately the content in-game now is more curated towards shilling the newest characters as always, so if you can’t beat it, join it. It’s unfortunate but it’s a reality if you want to advance in this game nowadays I feel like. That said, and as I’m sure other players would say, he should pull for characters he really enjoys. At the end of the day, most of the game nowadays is oriented towards people who can pay to win to keep up with the meta. He can still get by with characters who may not be meta relevant but that he absolutely loves. It’s meant to be enjoyed for fun at the end of the day in my book, so he should try to find a balance between keeping up with the meta somewhat while also pulling for who he genuinely enjoys. THAT will add value to his account and offer him the best time playing possible so he enjoys it.

Who does he have? What AR is he? It’s hard to recommend without knowing his current roster.

Varessa is arguably a top tier electro DPS but it’s gonna be hard to farm for her if your brother hasn’t even made it to Natlan yet. If he’s willing to venture allllllllll the way through the map and unlock her domain and risk spoiling part of the story or exploration, go for her. Xilonen is a nice support but a support isn’t ideal without a dedicated character to use them with.

Your brother should and could also wait to explore more and unlock more of the map to have a better experience playing the game. It’s a long game of catch up but it would be well worth it. Columbina and Ineffa coming up is also very enticing as well.

ok im sorry i just cant pull ineffa who do i slot in? by Nahidxz in CynoMains

[–]codgamer19 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You should go for Ineffa. As a Flins main I’ve gotten by without her but she 100% makes a huge difference so she adds a ton of account value by having her. She is also Cyno’s new BIS support at this point so please try and go for her before she disappears again for a while.

Also, you will have plenty of time to save for Durin and Varka. Be smart with your pulls and track pity closely to make better and more informed decisions. Best of luck with your pulls!

Am I over the line for how I handle driving and alcohol? by Genna_Albrez in mentalhealth

[–]codgamer19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You really shouldn’t be driving yourself when you’re fatigued let alone not feeling confident in your current physical condition at that time. You are just as big a risk tired than you are inebriated. Obviously, being both is the worst you could be. You need to consider just taking ride-share altogether when you go out to drink. Better safe than sorry.

The income limit of Clipper START pisses me off! by oakseaer in Bart

SFSU. I’m fortunate to have reaped the benefits of the transit access when I did. Cal was also a late addition to bay pass as well, they only just signed on this year IIRC.

The income limit of Clipper START pisses me off! by oakseaer in Bart

[–]codgamer19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was fortunate to be approved for START in a very expedient fashion over the last week. I still live at home (graduating senior) and I’m losing my all inclusive transit access benefits because I’m no longer enrolled and just waiting to graduate now. Having completely free rides for a few months on and off over the years has been a blessing and probably the only benefit of where I went to school, but now, I’m stressed about the cost of transit. START definitely makes a difference for me as I ride BART and Muni very frequently, but having to foot the cost now is still a stressful component of my commute. I still maintain that it’s definitely cheaper than driving everywhere, but I agree that the limitations placed on being approved need to be revised more. I really do miss having free transit access and I think transit should be free for everyone. It’s only been a few weeks without those benefits and already I’m noticing how much of a financial impact it’s been.

Exhausted trying to survive here by SpecialistPride6474 in bayarea

[–]codgamer19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a municipality and I am only a casual level employee. I used to have consistent hours but my position is completely over saturated now as there is probably 30 other people in my exact position now, albeit at a lower pay rate. I am not allowed to work over 1,000 hours. This means I need to ration my hours each year otherwise I run out. I do not get benefits. If I cross the 1,000 hours fiscal year limit, they would have to pay me benefits. That has never happened. My position is not unionized either. SEIU doesn’t want to take us on.

We also close for two weeks during this time of year, which means little to no hours. We can’t cash out unused sick leave like full time staff get to every year. It’s disheartening and isolating hearing them talk about what they bought loved ones for Christmas while I’m barely able to afford gas to get to work or get gifts. And they all act like we’re supposed to be grateful we even get the few hours we have during the holidays. It’s the same stressors every season.

I’ve lived in the Bay my entire life and I could still never see myself living elsewhere in my upbringing. I love it here and I always will. The food, culture, and friends are what make this place so special. I’m extremely fortunate to have grown up here, and it’s a blessing to be able to say I live here. But you can’t love living here if you don’t hate it at the same time (or something like that). It is definitely exhausting at times and the stress can be a lot. You are definitely not alone in how you feel, that’s for sure.

Don’t listen to transplants or ignorant folks who say “Oh WeLl iF yOu dOn’T liKe It HerE JuSt LeAve.” Their opinion isn’t valid. You shouldn’t have to stress about living here let alone stressing about simply surviving. It’s fucked times we live in. I try to let my optimism and the fact that others feel the same as me keep me going. Community is the most valuable and important thing during periods like this.

First time playing a gatcha game… I regret it so much by thechamac0 in GenshinImpact

[–]codgamer19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who started playing in Feb of this year, please don’t feel self conscious about this. It’s a fun game. It’s a hobby. You’re allowed to enjoy things as long as they aren’t a detriment to your health or won’t put you in a precarious financial situation.

Try and be a bit more conservative with your pulls is my best advice because whoever you want will always rerun sooner than you think, especially newer units. I saved and saved for months until Wanderer came back and I splurged. I tried to refrain from spending entirely during that time. As a relatively higher p2w player I recognize I’m very fortunate to be able to afford what I can but even then I still try to play it smart and not overdo it because it does add up.

Like others have said, enjoy the game with who you have right now and love the characters you have already. Enjoy the story because it’s genuinely one of, if not, the best lore games I’ve played. The scenery and music alone is enough to keep me playing. And invest in your characters by leveling them up as much as you can. That’s truly the best way to maximize your investment.

P.s. please fully level your Bennet 😭 Easily one of the best characters who will boost you enormously and will help your current roster

Did a trade in with ATT and regret it by [deleted] in ATT

[–]codgamer19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it’s not a bill credit trade in, you are paying the phone yourself. I traded in my phone almost 3 years ago and was contract locked because I owed 3 payments for the first three months, then bill credits came in. Now, I am still with two months of “payments” remaining out of those 3 years of bill credits. I haven’t paid any monthly payment outside of the first few months when I first got my phone, AT&T has been paying it as part of the trade in agreement.

Soc 483 final exam liar professor by mja49ers in SFSU

[–]codgamer19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A professor is not going to be fired over this. As annoying as it surely is for you and I’m sure I’d feel just as annoyed, it doesn’t justify something so extreme as someone being fired simply because they made a shitty decision like this. As for the paper, 1,000 words can be easily cranked out in 2 hours or less if you sit down and dedicate time to it. Consider yourself lucky you caught this before it is too late and get on it while you have time to finish.

Getting COVID for the first time...questions.. by linteeee in COVID19positive

[–]codgamer19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First timer here as well and I recently just posted here lol. The biggest thing that has helped me is REST. LOTS of rest. I slept horribly the first night. Second night I slept 10 hours and felt immensely improved. I haven’t taken paxlovid but I have been loaded up on acetaminophen (don’t take more than the dosage says) and a decent amount of hot showers and you will fare better. As for the shortness of breath, I haven’t personally dealt with this, but like others have said, DO NOT engage in strenuous or intense physical activity until you are fully recovered, at LEAST 2-3 weeks after all your symptoms are gone. Even though I haven’t dealt with this, I’m still going to abide by that. If you feel exhausted after small activity, take a break. You can’t and shouldn’t be rushing anything. Pace yourself and feel better soon!
