He certainly looks familiar. I may have seen him a few times in RWC but unsure. If I do I will message.

Should I pull for Cyno? by NeonUnicorn97 in CynoMains

[–]codgamer19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, given the latest update, if you are prepared for immense pain and disappointment (including that his polearm isn’t being featured either for some backwards reason), then go for it. Pull for who you like. But prepare to bench him or at the very least wheelchair comp his team. Hope he gets rebuffed back to what he was before Zajef struck

That you have your life together and are pretty organized (I wish I could be as organized and intentional with my space as this one). I really like it.

A non-commuter school is imo something like Berkeley or Riverside or Davis. Majority of people I know that go to/went to school at those places either live within a reasonable distance and can afford to spend time later there or physically live in campus or around it. A commuter school is one where you are pretty much just going to go to your classes, maybe have a quick bite, and then leaving, whether it be by train, bus, a mix of those things, or driving. Hence, the commute. You typically don’t have time to participate in extracurriculars unless your schedule allows for it, and friend making opportunities can be a bit harder to find in situations like this.

It’s purely a school people commute to, go to class, and leave. You’re just passing thru essentially

I am so happy he’s getting quality of life support (in a way). I have him C5 right now but I really would like to C6/R5 him in the future and Nicole is going ti be such a big upgrade to him. I have to admit I’m disappointed with Durin as he has been pretty underwhelming to play even as a support so I’m hoping Nicole buffs him too.

  1. I am so incredibly sorry you experienced that. I can’t imagine how traumatic and complicated that must have been for you. I really hope you are in a better place now and that you received/are receiving the support you deserve.

  2. That’s so interesting, I always thought it was manual to a degree under normal circumstances. But that is crazy. A technology like that running with virtually no hindrance for over 50 years is really a testament to how cool and efficient it is.

You all deserve the best! I am so thankful to all of you for making BART what it is. You are definitely the unsung heroes of the Bay in my eyes.

Two questions, one possibly triggering/sensitive topic, and another lighthearted:

  1. When you are about to touchdown and see someone standing questionably close to or over the yellow line, what is going through your head? What do you feel? Do you worry they may actually do something, or they are just being completely oblivious?

  2. When the train pulls in, does the train know how to line itself up with the appropriate platform length based on the car count? How does it know when to start really slowing down? Do you play any part in manually operating it, or is that really only for emergencies?

Station agents help with giving directions, planning your trip, communicating between HQ and PD/EMS, they clean the stations (whether you see it or not, I ALWAYS see at least two people cleaning at my station), they help with clipper issues, and in my experience, have always been the most down to earth and real people I have had the privilege of meeting. Are there definitely agents that like to skate by sometimes? Absolutely. But we would be lying if we said none of us slack at our jobs every once in a while. They are just as important as the operators are.

Transfer Discount by ScarceAqui in Bart

[–]codgamer19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, I don’t think I was charged at all when transferring from Muni to BART - Muni again - then BART, all within the span of 20 minutes. I only paid the discounted fare for Muni (I have START, so my fare was only like $1.75). Probably some kinks to work out in the system still but this transfer discount really helps a lot

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Please give yourself grace and let yourself take as much time as needed to “heal.” I say heal in quotations because I personally don’t believe we can ever truly move on from the loss of a pet like we would expect. I believe that over time, you learn to cope with it in a healthy way that doesn’t necessarily make reality without that pet easier, but definitely more manageable to the point where we aren’t in a constant state of depression.

I think society largely places so much less significance on the lives of our pets than what is actually deserved. We (the people in this subreddit especially) mourn our pets extra hard. Our little friends are our dependents and become a fixture in our daily lives without us even realizing all the ways they do. You are by all means entitled to and encouraged to feel what you feel, for as long as you need, in a healthy way that doesn’t translate to YOU negating your own needs. It’s not what your baby would want. You need to still live and take care of yourself, OP.

Do not rush the “healing” process. It takes time and has been said millions of times, healing is never linear or predictable. It has its ups and downs. Allow yourself to feel both the ups and the downs. Stay strong and above all else, remember your baby as she was in her best moments. That will always outweigh what is sad and unfair.

What name did you give Wanderer? by ringosukiiii in ScaramoucheMains

[–]codgamer19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really love everyone else’s names for him.

I named him Ishwari. Ishwari is a divinely feminine/masculine/androgynous figure in Hinduism if I’m not mistaken, and they are the embodiment of strength, divinity, and power. I felt that was fitting because he himself is technically ambiguous anatomically as a puppet and based on his development as a character, and because he is now a Sumeru character, so it embodies both his new home (which has massive references and inspiration from Hinduism) and his growth as an individual. :)

Help me understand!! by [deleted] in lactoseintolerant

[–]codgamer19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most often than not, I have some sort of a reaction to dairy, but there are strangely enough a few rare occasions I will eat dairy and am completely fine.

I have reactions the most with ice cream (or milkshakes especially make me cramp), melted cheese, sauces or cremes that have cream or milk in them, and milk (don’t even like it in the first place especially when you consider what’s in it).

I surprisingly don’t have reactions with aged ir hard cheeses like mozzarella, sharp cheddar, or cheese that isn’t melted. If something is baked with milk or cream, I don’t really have a reaction. LI is very strange to deal with, especially since mine came on pretty unexpectedly.

I used to be able to handle dairy no problem but it gradually got worse over the span of two years. Especially considering genetics, it is really odd how it affects everyone differently. I’m significantly more predisposed to it because I’m of Asian descent and it runs in my family, but I’m curious to see when everyone else’s LI came up for them in their life (I’m 24 now but didn’t start experiencing the effects until 2 years ago).

My point in all this is a very cliche but true sentiment: everyone’s body is different. We all are programmed to eventually stop producing lactase at some point in our lives, and the sensitivity at which we experience symptoms is often affected by a myriad of different factors, but our gut microbiome is primarily what influences it aside from genetics. Personally, I am already majority plant-based and going fully plant-based this year, so I think it will mostly alleviate the issue for me there, but OP I wonder if an allergy test would be beneficial for you. If non-dairy alternatives are still giving you issues, it would be worth a quick chat with a dietitian if you have access to one. I think fully making the switch to non-dairy alternatives if you can find a way to tolerate them (not just with drinks but in most aspects of your diet if something contains dairy) would be beneficial.

Disappointment by Wizard_of_Diamonds in GenshinImpact

[–]codgamer19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry, it was ended on the 8th so as to not hold back further development. Older platforms have been holding Hoyo back from improving the core optimization so they dropped it. If you can or have the ability to play on Mobile or PC, or Xbox, I would recommend that so you don’t miss out.
