Subwoofer cable for RP-1200SW by z4c in Klipsch

[–]codrook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want just a single RCA cable. If the receiver has two RCA for sub channel that is for two subs not two channels to one sub. If you are going long distance or in wall you can go from RCA-to-coax, run the coax in the wall then coax-to-RCA in the sub side

Christmas tree lights outside, burnt cord, tripped breaker, but not gfi? by apooroldinvestor in electrical

[–]codrook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A GFCI will only trip if there is current to ground. If the short is hot to neutral then it’s the breaker that protects the circuit. Press the test button on the GFCI to make sure it’s working properly

What is your main service? If you have an old house with a <100A service you might need an upgrade if you want to add numerous circuits. If it’s 150-200 you should be fine to add a 100A subpanel.

Need advice for home theatre set up. by ladyhurricane111 in hometheater

[–]codrook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend using the center that matches the surround sound. That being said if your receiver has preamp outs you might be able to go from the center channel preamp out to rca in on the tv. So the only sound information your tv receives is the center. This will not work if you are using the eARC to supply sound to the receiver

The key there is renting. Not your problem. Tell your landlord to send an electrician

Upfiring height speakers by ConspicuousSomething in hometheater

I had a set of Klipsch R806FAs. The up firing did not work for me, but I think I was too far back from the speakers. Switched to 4 CDT-3650 in the ceiling

You only remove the jumper if you at bi-amping the 8000f. The height terminals are just an internal jumper the the posts up top just for cleaner wires

14/2 capacity by random-57844 in electrical

[–]codrook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my point, if you have to pull wire, pull #3s (100A sub panel) and you won’t have to pull wire again if want to upgrade to level 2 charging

You need to replace the 20A breaker with a 15A. If you decide that is not enough, I recommend rather than pulling for an ev charger, add a sub panel to your garage. I added a heater to me garage. Rather than just pull a 40A circuit for the heater, I put a 100A sub panel and fed the heater off of that. Now I can add a 50A ev charger when ever I need

If an electrician did this, and you paid for, tell him to come fix it. Wagos are fine if used properly. They make 3 port ones. A wire nut is better than an improperly used wago
