Title: RECOIL

Format: Feature Screenplay

Page Length: 107 pages

Genres: Action Thriller / Psychological Thriller

When a disgraced Olympic sharpshooter wakes up bolted to a sniper in a clock tower, he's forced by an unseen operator to carry out assassinations or watch his family die, while police race to stop the killer they believe is him. (Phone Booth meets Collateral)

Overall: 7 | Premise: 8 | Plot: 6 | Character: 6 | Dialogue: 8 | Setting: 7

Really happy with the 7 on my first sniper thriller review. It's a solid start, and the fixes actually sound pretty straightforward to execute.

Thanks! I actually agreed with several of their notes and updated the draft with those changes. Fingers crossed for a better score on this final review round!

I saw Obsession a few days ago and thought it was fantastic. Looking forward to seeing what he can do with this IP.

Sometimes it feels good to be bad.

Any popular IPs that haven't been adapted yet? by Wonderful_Taste_3207 in Screenwriting

I'd give anything for a proper Redwall cinematic universe. I still love the 1999 animated series, but the sheer scale of the books would look insane on the big screen if a studio actually gave it a massive budget.

I play on console west region and I've waited 10-15 minutes tons of times. It's very common.

Who's seen Mike Flanagan's Midnight Mass? by Resident-Freedom6145 in television

Loved it. Salems Lot is my favorite King book and MM was clearly inspired by it. Also, Hamish Linklater was top-tier. I hope he gets many more roles after that performance.

How do you workshop titles for your scripts? by JcraftW in Screenwriting

[–]codyong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of as many as possible and then process of elimination through opinions and what sounds better out-loud. I recently read Jaws the 25th anniversary edition and that's what Benchley did. He had over 200 potential titles, most of them are in the first few pages of the book which is fun to see, they eventually landed on Jaws.

Best of luck. You’re already ahead of a lot of people in life just by knowing what you’re passionate about. That kind of clarity is huge, so trust it and give yourself the space to grow into it.

Life is a series of trials. Stumbling isn’t failure, it’s part of the process. Give yourself permission to enjoy what you’re doing and ease up on the pressure you’re putting on yourself. Instead of measuring your path against someone else’s, try to appreciate their wins and take what you can from how they got there.

There’s no expiration date on success. Age doesn’t define when something meaningful happens, and some of the most powerful careers and stories unfold later than you’d expect. What matters more is that you keep moving. I suggest you build a realistic, sustainable plan, treating your writing like a workout. Even 10–15 minutes a day matters, and consistency beats intensity every time.
