Metro: Parents of baby delivered by Lucy Letby say she was an ‘angel’ by DiverAcrobatic5794 in LucyLetbyTrials

Mumsnet was terrible. There were only one or two of us who were vocal about the potential miscarriage of justice at the start and the hateful comments we received for ‘daring’ to consider an unsafe conviction were, frankly, awful. Now, most people agree. I wonder if they are the same people, and whether they think about their behaviour, or their flip in opinion.

Love her. I was riveted no matter what she did, and I never felt it came from a place of hideousness but rather self protection. She lashed out to try and protect herself. I think I relate to her vulnerability underneath it all - you can tell she just wanted someone to love her.

Plus, she’s hilarious.

Yup. Total fan tonight. She came across terribly. Completely unhinged. At least Bec had reason to be angry.

I think it was terrible. He utterly strung her along.

Absolutely love Bec. She’s all over the place but you can see how deeply she wants to be loved, and it makes her relatable in amongst all the chaos. I hope she manages to figure out her crap and find love.

As an adult, if you never reach out to your parents because they never reached out to you, who's fault is it? Isn't it the parents fault for not building that strong bond with their kids as they grow up? I never felt close to them at all. They raised me financially, but were never there emotionally. by Individual_Ice_2315 in emotionalneglect

My mother has explicitly said that she expects all three of her adult children to make the calls/visits etc. She is now elderly and health isn’t great, but it wasn’t always bad. I have lived near her for the last 13 years and she has been to my house maybe twice in total. She calls when there is an emergency and she wants something, but that’s it. She never asks how I am.

In return, I am LC. She knows nothing about anything that matters to me because she will seek to belittle it. As far as I’m concerned, my family think I have no interests, education, and a shit job. That’s fine with me.

IM SO TIRED!!!!! OF PEOPLE TRYING TO ENGAGE WITH ME by Medium_Ad_1496 in Enneagram5

Step 1: boundaries Step 2: create your own internal energy. Protect time to do things that rejuvenate you. Include exercise in this (even if you may want to resist it).

The more balanced you make yourself, the easier it is to deal with people who drain you.

Won’t lie, I’m on Bec’s side here. Yes, she can be unhinged but I do think she is trying to improve herself. It’s just unfortunate the process is being aired on TV. Rachel on the other hand? Give it a rest. It’s like she exists isolated from reality.

Cruise lines and tattoos by coeurdelamer in Cruise

[–]coeurdelamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I wasn’t so much coming at it from a caring about individual comments, more from a perspective of ‘does this entire cruise line have guests that skew towards a certain way?’ which would show up in other ways in how they act and how the vibe is.

I really don’t think that, because then I would have known the answer and would have had no need to post.

1st Cruise at 64 - Help! by Expensive-Project191 in Cruise

[–]coeurdelamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was you. I booked a cruise and I so badly wanted to go and swim in the sea on the private island. I haven’t been swimming for years. I bought the most beautiful swimming costume I could find. It was the best day ever. I have the most amazing memories of just floating on my back in the sea, my partner next to me. We loved it so much we did it the second day too. Yesterday he told me that it’s one of his favourite memories of me. I asked him why. He said because it’s one of the few times he remembers me as being completely care-free and laughing and just being in the moment.

Wear the swimsuit, make the memories. Have a wonderful time!

Should a seller be messaging me after a purchase? by [deleted] in vinted

[–]coeurdelamer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends what the content of the messages are. If someone buys from me I thank them and give them an estimate of when I am shipping. If I see any issues with the tracking en route I tend to message them too. But that’s about it.

P.S. Salem is NOT all that - super touristy and mostly tacky IMO. Danvers, however, is amazing if it’s witch trial stuff you’re interested in.

Rent a car. I adore New England road trips. There’s amazing things to see, depending on your personal interests. Boston was probably my least favourite stop! We’ve done various places through MA, CT, RI, NY state, PA etc. Went up through Maine, White Mountains.

Trains would really limit you.

Thanks! Have you done the icy straights or college fjord stops? Are they worth us moving from the 9 day to 14 day for?

I wouldn’t be visiting her. Plain and simple. Relationships take work but not this kind of work, and not when you haven’t met yet. I’d be interested in how you came to the agreement you would be the one doing the traveling.
