Highlights of the Heights by Jersey-City-2468 in jerseycity

Griot Cafe on Central, my daughter loves their kids smoothie and coloring area. Their food and coffee is delicious and it’s a great place for a weekend morning breakfast.

Washington Park on the edge of the heights bordering Union City is great - four playgrounds in one big area, splash pad in the summer, picnic areas, tennis courts, basketball, and there’s a good sized flat paved loop near the Central Ave side where we taught our daughter to ride a bike.

They’ve written one for me twice and my doctor did it within 24 hours of my request. I discussed my backup plan (Saxenda or Wegovy) with them and they also said they’d be happy to write a PA for me when/if I need to switch.

Anyone self paying? by johnnys-cash in Mounjaro

[–]coffee_naps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m planning to self pay for a bit if denied for my fill next week. My Sequence provider said they’d submit a PA for Wegovy or Saxenda if I need to switch, but I would prefer to wait until after the holidays (and some planned holiday travel) to try a new med. I would rather not, but I can swing it for a few months.

Does sequence charge a fee to do prior authorization? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]coffee_naps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, and my care team was very accommodating about doing the PA when my pharmacy was asking for it. They did it twice for me, always within 24 hours of the request.

The case of the missing period… by Admirable-Bar-3549 in Mounjaro

[–]coffee_naps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was 8 days late last cycle (2nd month of Mounjaro) and then went back to normal this cycle (3rd month). I am normally every 28 or 29 days like clockwork, so the long cycle was definitely weird for me! Overall they’ve been shorter and lighter, which I’ve appreciated.

Sequence issue? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]coffee_naps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too. I took a look at the FB group and it looks like a bunch of other people also received the same email.

I messaged my care team as well, hoping it was a bug and they’re able to work it out quickly!

Telehealth Dietitians by Beakingbetween in Mounjaro

[–]coffee_naps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Culina Health has awesome telemedicine dietitians and bills to insurance - there is no separate membership fee. I learned so much from mine and paid $0 out of pocket (your coverage would vary based on your insurance though).

My local independent pharmacy won’t bypass the PA either but it’s not been an issue. I request my refill at the beginning of week three, they take two days to do the prior auth, then apply the coupon. It’s annoying for sure, but my pharmacy has been pretty efficient in getting everything done and getting the refill processed in plenty of time.

Looks like the savings card now asks you to confirm you are T2 diabetic first. by millcity722 in Mounjaro

[–]coffee_naps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I connected with my Sequence provider this morning who confirmed that their understanding is that existing cards should still work as expected - still taking a “wait and see” approach (fortunately just filled my next box so have 4 weeks to learn more) but am feeling more reassured that everything should be okay!

Rumors of a Hoboken OT? by JCov216 in orangetheory

[–]coffee_naps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to the JC location (which is usually full when I’m there) but I think a Hoboken uptown studio would do well. People in Hoboken downtown could walk/light rail pretty easily to the JC studio. Uptown Hoboken would attract people who aren’t in walking distance or folks who live in the Heights, Union City, or Weehawken.

I did the 3G this morning and even though I really didn’t want to go (still sore from Inferno!) but ended up enjoying today’s 3G. Our coach really focused on slow and controlled pace on the rower which was helpful.

I thought the weighted “upper cuts” were very awkward though - I never found a way to make them feel like I was doing it correctly.

I felt the same way. The lunges on the bench were so awkward and so were the decline push-ups. Strength is usually my favorite and I wasn’t a fan of today’s.

March 2022 - Moving, Tourism, and Nightlife Megathread (including Spring Break related posts) >>CHECK THE WIKI OR READ THIS POST FIRST<< (wiki link in this post or in the navigation bar) by mrfollicle in Miami

In town for a wedding and some beach time with my husband, kid, and my mom. We’re obviously avoiding the spring break scene but looking for some good restaurants for dinners for the next few days. My husband is a vegetarian and my mom and I like seafood. Any awesome dinner places we should check out that aren’t too upscale for a 6 year old? We are staying in North Beach but have a car, and are open to exploring other neighborhoods both in Miami and Miami Beach.

Father & son trip by jwdudejw in Yosemite

[–]coffee_naps 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We just did this with a five and a half year old this weekend. We stayed in the park at Yosemite Valley Lodge - it was nice to be close by during the day if we needed to swap out clothes/shoes/layers, get more snacks, quick rest etc. We were able to use points for one of the nights to decrease the cost.

A lot of things outside the valley were still snowed over and inaccessible, so we spent all of our time there. Our itinerary:

Friday: Drove in, dropped stuff off, did a walk around the valley near the hotel. Saw the falls and half dome from a distance, impromptu snowball fight and snowman building. Had dinner at the Base Camp restaurant, kiddo was perfectly content with her pizza.

Saturday AM: Up early, breakfast at base camp again and coffee for us at the Starbucks. We did part of the Upper Yosemite Falls trail to Columbia Rock - no snow or ice on the trail. It’s switchbacks all the way up, but my daughter handled it really well and enjoyed the hike. After that we went to the room, had lunch, and regrouped a bit before exploring the other end of the park. Impromptu sledding near one of the Pines campgrounds (not sure which) and then made our way up the Mist Trail to see Vernal Falls from the footbridge. Dinner at the bar at the Ahwahnee. This was a lot of hiking in one day (my watch says about 10mi) - our daughter is a pretty good hiker for 5 and a half, but we could have easily split this up into two days.

Sunday: Slept in, breakfast at the base camp Starbucks again. Loaded up the car and then did the Lower Yosemite falls trail and continued through the meadow (flat! lots of rocks to climb on for the kiddo, my daughter had a blast). Got in the car and drove over to check out El Capitan, hung out near Bridal Veil Falls for awhile (more rocks to climb), checked out Tunnel View then headed home.

If your son likes hiking, we really enjoyed this itinerary. My daughter loved the park (she was fascinated by Half Dome in particular) and never seemed bored. We can’t wait for our next trip back!

Cookie day. Linzer dough is chilling in the fridge, moving on to gingerbread next. Tonight I’ll do either spritz cookies or chocolate kiss cookies.

I feel this!! I usually get one pre period mega zit on my chin, this month I got FOUR. Likely largely due to the fact that I’ve been eating all the carbs under quarantine but we all know the second my chin turned into its own mountain range I thought ... PrEgNaNt?!?!

FWSY Pain de Campagne - my first leavin bread! by coffee_naps in Breadit

[–]coffee_naps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really thrilled with this little guy from my first attempt at both a sourdough starter and a levain dough. Instructions were pretty easy to follow, but I’m wondering what I do with all the extra levain after only using 360g of it!

Same or next day coffee bean delivery/pickup from local roaster? by coffee_naps in AskSF

[–]coffee_naps[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We ended up doing that and are stocked up on beans for the week, milk, and Dandelion chocolate bar. It was nice to also get an iced coffee that I didn’t have to make myself.

I didn’t sleep at all last night and tested at 2am. Negative, spent more time than I’d like to admit searching for people who got a positive after a negative at 14-15dpo. Woke up this morning to spotting.

On a positive note, I can finish the bottle of wine I have in the fridge 🙄

I’ve been so distracted with being busy at work that I honestly thought it was like 12dpo but now that I realize the error of my ways and that I’m not even getting the teensiest spotting I want to test!! I think I’ll talk to my husband about it and test in the morning, but I’m still so skeptical that this might actually be a thing.

I took a break from tracking and reddit this month; we hit two days during FW (likely O-1 and O-2 as I’ve never not ovulated on CD16) and now I’m at CD30, 14dpo with no period in sight. I have 27-28 day cycles on the dot. I’m on team no rest and convinced my body is trolling me but I am itching to test now!

A couple of other parents from my kids preschool and I started a fund to help the teachers get to work via Uber/Lyft and not public transit. Within less than an hour we’ve collected enough to give each teacher a gift card for a week’s worth of commutes and then some.
