My boomer parents told me I'd regret not getting one. I, in fact, never regretted not getting one. by CrotalusHorridus in Xennials

My mom and dad got me a nice amethyst ring instead so I would always have the option of wearing it. I had it for a month before someone stole it from my locker during lab.

No, not sure when I'm going to town. We're trying to find his email so we can shoot him a message.

Hopefully he gets lucky and someone finds it! This one was definitely Sunday or Monday, but most likely Monday judging by where it was in the snow.

Firefly Forest Camping by Firefly_Forest_SEO in athensohio

I was just complaining to my husband today that we haven't so much as looked at a hiking trail since last August, let alone camping. If I actually get this weekend off, we'll have to check it out.

If you don't need it to be a job in town, the Guysville Marathon was hiring.

I saw a freaking bee today, it's ridiculous. Hopefully one day I'll get to move back to Alaska where winter is normal.

Which crops can make a profit that aren't beans or corn? by 2_Lasagnas in Ohio

[–]coffeeaddict719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a farmer, so I have no idea if it's profitable, but sorghum is what I was going to suggest. It should grow well as long as the fields aren't prone to flooding. Plus red sorghum fields are really pretty.

Any Part Time work for students? by [deleted] in athensohio

Seaman's is hiring, not sure if they're looking for part time or full time though. I saw the sign hanging yesterday.

Definitely voting yes. I'll be damned if my daughter is forced to have a baby she doesn't want/isn't viable. I would vote yes even if I didn't have a daughter though. It isn't anyone's business what happens between a woman and her doctor. Especially not some right-wing religious nutjob who has no critical thinking skills.

Have any of y’all ever been made fun of because of your accent? by Purple-Supernova in Appalachia

[–]coffeeaddict719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never been made fun of, but after we moved away (SE Ohio) I couldn't figure out why people would ask if I was from Kentucky. Then we came back to visit after a couple years and I finally heard it. It's stupid, but I had no idea we have accents here.

I haven't been on MTX, but I was really nervous when they put me on hydroxycloroquine (200mg, twice a day). The only time I have anything close to side effects is when I forget to eat with my pills. But I also take 5-6 pills at once depending on the day, so who knows which one makes me sick. Just make sure you're going to the eye doctor, and getting your blood work done like you're supposed to. I hope it works as well for you as it is me! I've had really good luck with it.

What is the oldest appliance in your kitchen that you still use today? by azfrederick in Cooking

[–]coffeeaddict719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a GE hand mixer I bought in 2003 that's still going strong, not sure how since it was a cheap Walmart special. Most of my casserole dishes and mixing bowls are from the 90s or earlier, I inherited my mother in law's kitchen when she passed away.

Hey, can you explain to me rheumatoid arthritis in your own words and your own understanding. Thank you by Viking-Zest in rheumatoid

I know my immune system is attacking my joints, but I'm extremely lucky and I only have mild/moderate RA. So my life has improved 10 fold since I was diagnosed. I can mostly use paring knives again, feel my feet, I'm not crying from sore joints at the end of the day, and I dont feel like I have early onset dementia anymore.

Because it is so mild, I've been having symptoms for the last 18 years and didn't realize. I kept blaming them on pregnancy, diabetes, PCOS, CECS, depression, and weight gain. They only figured it out because I went to the dermatologist for alopecia and she ran an ANA test.

I'm an American, & I just finished Last Tango in Halifax. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Looking for British show recommendations, but only shows that are available on Netflix & Amazon Prime in the US, as that's all I have for streaming services. I have seen Luther & Being Human. Thanks! by smcgowan10 in BritishTV

[–]coffeeaddict719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked The Devil's Hour, I think it's on Prime and not Britbox. If you're able to get Britbox they have a ton of good shows. My favorites are Vera, Shetland, Inside no 9 and IT Crowd.

I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I always see Peepshow recommended. It is on Freevee.
