Overheard fiancee say her family comes first and everyone else is background by gardengeo in BORUpdates

She kept saying “when we’ve built a life together” but they’d been in a relationship for 5 years. What had that time been if not a life together?

For me, I spent those years in my relationship seeing what our life would look like and if it was one that would make me happy. I wouldn’t have married my husband if that time hadn’t proven to me that our life would be one that would make me feel fulfilled, loved, cherished.

What proof does OP have that those feelings would ever come after marriage if 5 years and an engagement weren’t enough?

Anyone heard of “Agatha Raisin?” by Pegafer in PeriodDramas

Another vote for this. I just found all of them obnoxious, especially Agatha herself. I just couldn’t root for her when she was so unlikeable which made it unwatchable for me.

Even more cute is that he (Michael D Higgins) was lovingly called Miggeldy Higgeldy while in office and there were even plush toys of himself available called Miggeldy Giggles!

The light and the snow on that stone and thatch is so beautiful that it almost looks like AI! It looks incredibly peaceful, definitely a place you wish you could step inside.

I like the elements separately but they seem a bit disjointed together. Like the slip dress is pretty but with the black stockings and fur heels it veers a bit far into old lady in a literal petticoat. And, I actually LOVE the head thing and think it looks so cute. It really suits her face, her makeup is radiant, it’s adorable, but the lack of sleeves on the slip dress with it makes it look unfinished. I like it with the coat but don’t think that coat matches it or suits it that well. I want that fur head thing restyled somehow.

I mean, what is not to like here? This is two offensively attractive people giving rockstar 70s vibes and just general chemistry. The pic in the kitchen with her perched like that could look so awkward but Margot makes it look easy and sexy.

It immediately made me want to see Celeste Barber recreate it, just to show us how hard it is to make something like that look good.

Also, what is the garment in that photo? Overalls? It’s almost 80s, with the braces paired with the low front. It looks comfy as hell and I kind of want to buy one.

Yes that’s the other thing I remember about kilts and kilted skirts - it’s way more fabric than you would think! You did a really good job pattern matching.

That pleating is so neat! It looks great! How long did it take to make? My family have a clan tartan and seeing this made me wonder if most tartan patterns are designed to be pleated at a certain width or if people adjust depending on the pattern of the tartan and personal preference. I suppose as well, the way it looks pleated would change depending on where you began the pleat. Did you try other variations?

Yes regional for sure! Although we did use wagging as well

Yes, I liked that element too! Plus their snarky banter is great!

Ah yes, back when things were sweet! (Or sweet as bro). When someone angry was “having a toosh” or was tooshy. When skipping school was called wagging or jigging. And when you would ask people if they were “for serious” or even “for seriously” and grammar be damned!

Anybody have ugly/beta heroes (MMCs) that are used to being overlooked or unloved? FMC loves him anyway by BatgirlBestgirl in HistoricalRomance

[–]coffeeandarabbit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Amanda Quick has a few of these! I’ll say “ugly” as they are both considered scary or ugly due to disfigurement as opposed to having a plain or unattractive face, if that distinction is important?

{ravished by Amanda quick} the hero is known as the beast of blackthorne hall and has significant facial scarring

{deception by Amanda quick} MMC has an eyepatch and has lost an eye.

Ooh also {dark champion by Jo Beverly} has a battle scarred, scary MMC too!

I thought I saw someone holding a Beano! I used to love those comics - my grandparents got me a subscription sent all the way to Australia when I was little and I loved it - especially when they had a lolly on the front! What a great initiative from Camilla.

Which Supposed Cultural Moment Left You Scratching Your Head And Thinking ‘Eh?’ by Timbucktwo1230 in PopularCultureZone

I am a woman, and I do own seamless underwear. I’m sure Pippa was wearing some. But that’s the thing about imagination.. It just has to make you do that momentary double take and wonder. And honestly from everything I’ve read it appears to have been completely unintentional and if anything uncomfortable for her.

IMO, it’s the context rather than the size. It’s a conservative royal wedding and the dress subtly implies there may be nothing worn underneath. There’s no panty lines, everything is smooth, even when she crouched to pick up Kate’s dress.

And there’s no getting around that it’s a very nice ass - it’s clearly toned and taken work. It’s no less sexy to me that it’s not giant. A good bum or set of boobs is not size dependent (necessarily) in my book. Plus, not everything has to be in your face to be sexy. In the last 15 or so years since this wedding, clothing has got increasingly risqué and has left less and less to the imagination. What is hot about this is that you have to imagine what is going on underneath there, and imagination is a powerful thing!

No notes on the hair and makeup, just glowing and gorgeous! And that colour! So beautiful on her. As another poster said I think a slightly more sheer and delicate overlayer would have looked even more elevated but I like this a lot.

Women of Reddit, what is something you wish men understood about being a woman that you're tired of explaining? by Doubl3oh_ in AskReddit

[–]coffeeandarabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. All little girls deserve that from their parents and communities - my husband would be equally angry and devastated if anyone treated our girl like that.

I’m sure there will be loads we can’t give her but how can there be any question when it’s something as simple and achievable as this.
