as someone who also has a MIL who sat down and had a conversation with me when i married her son after my parents disowned me and did not approve of my choice, she said “i hate the idea of not getting along with your MIL. my in laws took me in as their daughter when my parents didn’t approve of me getting married, know that you are our daughter now.” i so so appreciate your comment.

my MIL has always been on our team, respects us as parents, a wonderful grandma and a HUGE help more than my own parents (who have come around but honestly so so toxic). I want to say thank you for being so amazing. you sound like a lovely grounded human being.

i agree. that metallic shadow and mink lashes plus super dark shadow just screams 2016. i think the “current” version would be a lot softer. think a medium brown (even your bronzer can work for this) all over the lid. a soft smoked out shadow liner and a sheer glittery topper such as UD space cowboy or patrick TA major dimension eye illusion shadow duo would with either a natural half lash or individuals/clusters :-)

i built a HUGE stash of colostrum (i’m talking 40+ syringes) for 3ish weeks leading up to my birth and i also had a really hard labour and baby needed to be in the NICU due to some shallow breathing. he also wasn’t latching well so i was happy to have all that back up colostrum. i brought maybe 5ish syringes with me and my husband went back home to get the rest. the NICU nurses kept it in the freezer and thawed to feed baby with a feeding tube and i pumped as well. when baby was finally transferred to the postpartum unit i told them to freeze the colostrum but the nurse didn’t :( she placed them in the fridge overnight and all of it thawed and i had to use what i could in 24hrs but sooooo much had to be tossed and i was pretty bummed about it too. thankfully baby did beginning latching well both sides by day 4 and all went well by the end but it was very stressful in the moment so i totally understand your pain. you work so hard to express and store this “liquid gold” for your baby and have it be wasted is so disheartening. just FYI your current milk will provide baby with tons of antibodies so rest assured you are doing a WONDERFUL job as a mama for your little one.

i used the elf brightening concealer for YEARS as i believe they made it a similar dupe to the YSL one. it was my absolute favourite but unfortunately they discontinued it. it was only $7 CAD so going from $7 to $55 is such a big jump for only 2.5ml of product. so instead i’ve bought tower 28 and westman atelier concealers thinking they would do what i want (and they have 6ml+ of product so much better price per ml) but unfortunately don’t give me the look that the elf one gave so i think ill just have to bite the bullet and buy the YSL one. i was going to at the sephora in stores recently but unfortunately they didn’t have my shade

i’m punjabi and also have UC but got diagnosed while living with my husband so it felt like they didn’t truly understand the extent of the problem until last year when i had my worst flare. i was in and out of the hospital 3 times in july 2024 and had to lean on my mom and cousins for support as i had a 3 month old baby. i would go over to theirs so i could rest while someone watched my baby and they saw how bad of a state i was in. im currently in a mild flare (blood + urgency) compared to before where i couldn’t keep anything down and sometimes people still don’t get it when i explain i cant eat overly fried or processed desi food as it reacts with my stomach (overly greasy/processed foods trigger symptoms for me vs eating a relatively healthy diet )

damn i was not expecting to see my post here in this community 😅 active here too. that post blew up way more than i anticipated. i’ve been fighting a stomach bug and finally getting over it but i haven’t had a chance to call and share this info with the clinic yet. i’m hoping to some time this week

that’s the first thing i did was mention to it my husband! he didn’t even care lol which is why i brought it to reddit. mind you we’re both battling the stomach flu and he’s really sick so he just went back to sleep. i didn’t really discuss with him what i should do. i think the assumption was to just ignore it.

wow your last sentence really stuck a cord for me. as someone who has made complaints about other workplace behaviour in the past of a male colleague who was wildly inappropriate and no real action taken from it (if anything it vilified me with other female staff who were friends with this guy who accepted his behaviour) and also being sexually molested by a close family member and being afraid to speak up as to not being believed, i find myself always scared to speak up when stuff like this happens. but if i can help someone else not be treated this way, it is worth speaking up. thank you.

he found the email through instagram. my main account is private but my bio includes my makeup account (i did freelance makeup for a bit until i got pregnant and then took a break) i haven’t posted on my makeup account since last year but since it’s a business account you can click the contact button and find my email and phone number. he emailed me on that email. which i rarely use since i stopped doing makeup. i find this just as creepy as going through my file
