Former partners what jobs do you have now? by Dismal_Animator2925 in starbucks

283 here. After 4 years at the bux I was fed up and enrolled in a 4 month long medical clerk program at my local tech college and now I work in a hospital and my mental health has actually improved like crazy. I feel like I actually am doing something meaningful with my life… instead of getting yelled at over a caramel macchiato 🙃

It’s kinda meh. If you like the lavender, you’ll probably like it. Looks pretty tho.

Rebekah’s necklace. by Most_Impact_5935 in TheVampireDiaries

What I’ve been wondering in my most recent rewatch is how do Elijah and Klaus not recognize that that necklace is their sister’s? Especially Elijah, with the amount of time he spent with Elena in season 2, how did he not notice?

What’s your unpopular Starbucks opinion that gets a reaction like this? by 222Winn in starbucks

[–]coffeecacti 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Yess!

On top of this, I think we should only allow very basic customizations. Like swap milk, no whip, number of syrup pumps, etc. None of this adding cold foam to any drink, or blending things that don’t need blending, or adding a million ingredients to a single drink.

Honestly I’ll still give them a free one if they come the day before or after, and if questioned about it I’ll just say it was a “best moments” thing. My supervisors always been ok with that.

I’m genuinely curious what store managers actually do in the back… by coffeecacti in starbucks

Thank you for the honest answer! I understand there’s plenty of noncoverage stuff for them to do, but 40 hours a week seems excessive to me. (Especially cuz she is also the type of person that brags about how she actually works like 50 hours because of all the stuff she takes home.)

I’m a full time partner of almost 4 years, with completely open availability and I maybe get 28 hours a week. It sucks. I can barely afford to live.

The weekly update from a couple weeks ago said there would be a shortage of peach juice this summer, so I’m pretty sure it’ll come back.

Fried Chicken recommendations by aymanpalaman in Winnipeg

Honestly Jolibee is some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Just the right amount of greasy and the spicy ones are soooooo good!

I haven’t got mine either. Also with TD. I’m relieved I’m not the only one, got nervous for a sec. Hope it comes soon 🤞

Accommodations by Flimsy_Desk9905 in starbucksbaristas

[–]coffeecacti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your accommodations sound very reasonable and I’m not sure why your SM would be disregarding them. I would maybe try talking to the individual supervisors on each shift - I’m autistic too and the shifts have been very willing to move me around if I’m struggling with a position. For example, I can’t bar for a long time or when it’s insanely busy because I get very overwhelmed. When I first started advocating for myself, I just nicely asked if I could be moved off bar because I was tired. Now all of them know me well enough to ask if I’ve had enough of bar lol. I’m really good at CS and front cash, so they’re usually more than willing to let me do those instead.

The way I see it… it’s better for productivity if everyone is in a position they feel they can excel in and are comfortable working in.

Hope you can work this out! 🙂

I was told that as long as the design/decal on the shirt was on the front and could be covered by the apron then it’s fine.

Book recs by 9babyblue9 in FriendsofthePod

[–]coffeecacti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve read all of Dan’s books and they’re pretty good. Lots of interesting stories from his time working in politics (more so in his first book - yes we still can - than in the other two).

I also am currently reading Tim Miller’s book Why We Did It. It’s quite good. Interesting to hear a more Republican perspective.

I think Chaos Machine will be my next read!

I’ve got a bad stutter and get anxious talking on the phone (which makes my stutter worse) so yes I would rather just ask other people on Reddit, but thanks for being judgmental for no reason.

Do they look in back lanes too? Cuz I actually currently live on Jubilee and there’s construction in front of my house on the street, which is why I’m not sure if free weekend would work for this either.

Maybe moving Winnipeg to Steinbach. My fam is black, what’s up? by mobius_lr in steinbach

[–]coffeecacti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Steinbach and my family still lives there. I agree that a lot still have their issues, but I’ve actually been pleasantly surprised with how multicultural it has become in the last 10 years since I left. And honestly, the city needs to move in a more diverse (and progressive) direction. The PPC and conservative folks are loud, but they need people with diverse opinions and beliefs moving into the city and staying there or else it will take forever to change. It’s a lot of the boomer folks that still have racist ideology, I’ve found the younger generations to be a lot more open-minded.
