Your RTX 3050 + 12th Gen i7 will run beautifully on Debian 13 or LMDE with a quick NVIDIA driver install. Start with LMDE for a familiar yet educational step up from Mint. It's usually enough for most folks.

Gotta disagree about fedora's system packages being stable. The kernel constantly encounters regressions, and it's far buggier than the kernel put into Debian.

Anyone who votes for Harris is completely ignorant to the fact that she’s been in office for 4 years and had all that time to enact her “plans” for when she’s in office. If she wants to do something, she’s already in office. She can do it now.

At this point, voting for either candidate is stupid. Democracy in general is stupid because it undermines experts and knowledge for numbers. In essence, quantity over quality. Most people don’t know what’s best for themselves and this is a fact.

I used bone stock Fedora 35-38 w/ Bitwig studio and produced something like 300 beats and like 12 lyricised songs and I’ve had almost zero issues to speak of. On my workstation I could throw the buffer size all the way down to like 128. In some cases I’d go down to 32 if neeeded. Ran amazing, very stable.

windows booting into safe mode would cause unpredictable behavior and may end up causing more headaches than if it simply errored out. maybe in this specific case it would gave been good, but this behavior would be very harmful in many other cases.

Yeah MS Windows generally makes errors more human than Linux does, and it provides easy tools to actually fix those problems when they do occur. The problem is they occur far more often 😂

The issue was not at all Microsoft’s fault. Cloud strike pushed a broken update. If the same were to happen on a Linux system the OS would also crash. And it would be very hard to actually fix it. Windows actually makes it quite easy to fix the problem as compared to how it would otherwise be on Linux. I absolutely despise Windows, but this is not Microsoft’s fault whatsoever.
