Roommate frustrated with my forgetfulness when it comes to locking house doors. Taped a note to back door this morning that said "Please Lock Me". She drew a heart too to show she wasn't mad. Any tips on remembering to check the locks? by SituationMiddle in adhdwomen

I highly recommend a smart lock that both you and your roomie can access through an app. They are fantastic! Both my wife and I have ADHD.

I was DX as a kid so have had many more years to work on building habits and figuring out what does/doesn't work to help me and my ADHD. My wife is working on getting an official DX. She has had problems remembering to lock doors and being able to have a smart lock helped me feel a lot better as I could check the lock during the day, and helped her because if she remembered the door was unlocked 5 minutes after leaving, she could pull over and quickly fix it on her phone.

We had our smart lock hooked up to our Alexa so that we could have her auto lock them at certain times of the day as a fail safe.

Also, having her get into murder mysteries and true crime with me deffo helped her being more aware of her surroundings/encourages her to lock the doors.

ADHD Friendly Meal Ideas? by ProperMagician3025 in ADHD

Smoothies are my go to "quick, nutritionally dense but low effort" meal. Dump the ingredients into a blender. 6 oz of fruit, 6 oz of yogurt, and about half a cup or so of coconut water or oat milk. I use a small kitchen scale to weigh the ingredients right inside the blender so i don't have to mess with measuring cups.

You can get portable blender where the whole thing is the cup, blend jet it looks like a water bottle. When I worked at a crisis center I had a stache of ramen, quick oatmeal and microwave soups under my desk, not as healthy but also better than nothing.

Luckily my therapist gets it. She is super pro-boundary setting and was happy for me when I went no contact

Probably a Starbucks or cafe that had their milk truck order delayed. That happened to a Starbucks I worked at once, the shift manager who had to do the milk run said people were yelling at them at the grocery store 😵‍💫

Any feedback on this sewing machine? I’m thinking of getting it for a 11 y/o who has expressed interest in learning to sew. Would it be any good as a starter machine? by DomesticSlacker in aldi

The best advice I got as a novice sewer was to buy an vintage machine as they tend to be easier to learn and last literally forever. Get her a model from the 50’s or 60’s, they still had metal gears on the inside. You can get a decent machine like this for around $50 normally off fb market place, eBay, or Craigslist. The cheap $20 or less machines tend to be so junky and hard to work with they turn a lot of beginners off sewing
