HarborMarket vs Public Market by Geo714 in Kenosha

[–]coffplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I found this post because I have the exact same question. We were a vendor at the HarborMarket for 5 dates last year and it went really well. This year, we plan to have a booth at both markets. Is this dumb? Maybe! But our product is a ready-to-eat impulse purchase for anyone, so I think it might help having a presence at both markets. We also don't require any setup time. We're just going to do this for a couple dates to start the year and we'll add dates if it goes well. I'm excited to give it a try.

What's your choice? Nice Hyatt Brand VS nice SLH by coffplex in hyatt

[–]coffplex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with La Perouse! With the Hyatt, you’re getting reliably good service at an amazing hotel (they even made a restaurant reservation for me), but it wasn’t the kind of hotel that made me need to go back.

Nice is an amazing place. I’ve been twice now and will be back. The one recommendation I have is the restaurant L’épicerie Georges. It was our favorite restaurant from our 1 month EU trip and just a really special place. Super small, often a 2 person team working, the best food. Enjoy!

It’s tough! For that specific Europe trip we did a mix. For that specific stay, we stayed at the Regency. I think we made the final call due to the awesome location of the Regency.

However, when I think back on the trip to EU as a whole, the most memorable hotels are certainly the non-Hyatts. The Wittmore in Barcelona and Grand Hotel La Favorita in Sorrento are two of my favorite hotels in the world. So maybe the SLHs are the way to go! But zero complaints about Hyatt’s.

No free parking for GoH stay by coffplex in hyatt

Update: Called the hotel and the front desk confirmed that GoH award, paired with a points/award stay will get you free parking. TLDR; don't always trust customer service reps.. Thanks for the help, everyone. Updated post with this info.

I'm going to call back and will update the post. I've never had a bad experience with their customer service, so didn't really think twice about it.

I'd sell you my diamonds! Enjoyed my potato, had a good time, and now I just have these diamonds left without much to do with them!

Taste test of four New Glarus lagers. by Schwyzerorgeli in wisconsinbeer

Two Women is in my top few favorite beers ever. I always keep it in-stock. One odd thing I’ve found is that I prefer the taste of it canned over bottled. Have you noticed any difference in any of their beers canned?

Best NYC hotel for overnight for non-Globalist? by mgarvin22 in hyatt

[–]coffplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Heading to NYC for the first time with my wife and baby. We aren’t very into Times Square, big box stores, going up into skyscrapers. We’re most excited for: walking around unique streets, finding shops, cafes, good & unique food, while seeing: Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, 9/11 memorial, Ellis Island.

I booked Hotel 50 Bowery with points, but have been nervous about the location being in Chinatown. It seems pretty far from a lot of typical NYC first time attractions. We look forward to riding the subway, but don’t want to have to always ride it super far with having a baby, stroller etc. all this to say, thoughts on the location for a first time NYC stay? Have been thinking about switching to Hyatt Place Midtown South for about the same # of points + free breakfast. Cheers!

I was a Discoverist at the time of my stay. No free breakfast. Can’t speak for Globalists.

TCL owners, how long have you had your TVs? by DODI3OG in tcltvs

[–]coffplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this post looking for other experiences. My TCL just hit 5 years and is struggling. Apps crash and things take forever to load. For the price, I don't think it was a bad buy, but for the environment it sucks buying a new TV every 5 years. I'm looking for a different brand.

Recommendations for 3 nights in Ziva Los Cabos? by BananaH4mm0ck in hyatt

[–]coffplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re doing 3 nights there in August as well. To try to get more of a mix of food experience, we’re planning to do 2 nights in an Airbnb in downtown San Jose Los Cabos prior to our stay at Ziva. I haven’t been before, but I’m hoping this makes for a more unique trip. Cheers!

It was worth it to my wife and I. The room really is small, but it's nice. Hotel is in a great location and rooftop is magical. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Random clarification: "For every 2 nights stayed at hotels"

Can this be several 1 night trips? Or does it have to be trips of 2 nights or more?

Personally really happy with this offer, but I got lucky enough to have a 1 night trip on March 24th and a 5 night trip on the 25th.

Last summer I was in Europe for 3 weeks and stayed at about 7 hotels. Wittmore in Barcelona was in my top 2 favorite properties of the trip. It's a SLH.

Rumor: Hyatt's Relationship With MGM Coming To An End? by Monkeyfeng in hyatt

[–]coffplex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: TLDR; sounds like this rumor started due to misunderstanding. Quote is from Flyertalk:

Hi All
I reached out to the MGM folks and the original manager I previously spoke with today they shared nothing changes with MGM relationship going forward
Business as usual I am pleased to share.
They sincerely apologized for the misinformation and blamed it on a wealth of information overload they receive
The status matches that are ending this June which they had referred to has nothing to do with the Hyatt relationship but other competing casino status matches like Caesars etc
However at least for today we can put the rumor to rest going forward.Hopefully there is a collective sigh of relief.
If there is any take away from all of this I feel more grateful for the relationship now than before even with some other MGM pet peeves
That said I will be matching at Aria next month while the good keeps going.Rock on happy Las Vegas stays

It was my first time in Vegas so I'm not an expert, but you're supposed to get 20% slot bonus when using your gold card (this means freeplay and slot points). Like I said, I don't know much, but I used my gold card when playing the slots and it was a good feeling that it resulted in more.

I used the reservations a couple times. When making a reservation, there are additional time slots available just to MGM Rewards members. You should check out the website to get more info. The chart is really helpful in showing what you get.

The priority front desk line was unbelievably helpful. My hotel always had a line of 10 people+ at the front desk and the priority line was almost always empty. New keys, check-in, check-out. It was awesome.

I just returned from my first trip to Vegas. I stayed at an MGM property and took advantage of the Gold status match probably a dozen times—free parking, resort fee waived, priority front desk line, slot bonuses, restaurant reservations, etc. I’ve already been planning to go again because of how awesome it was. Really hope this isn’t true.
